The  IIC  and  standards  organiza9ons

3

The  IIC  is  not  a  standards  organiza3on.      The  IIC  will:  •  establish  a  reference  architecture  •  evaluate  exis3ng  standards  against  it  •  iden3fy  requirements,  and    •  propose  these  requirements  to  standards  organiza3ons

The  IIC  evaluates  and  organizes    exis3ng  standards  to:

•  advocate  for  open  standard  technologies,

•  influence  global  standards  development

The  Plan

13

The  Reference  Architecture  lays  out:    •  the  elements  and    •  the  rela3onships  between  them

Page 14: TheIndustrialInternet&the IndustrialInternetConsor2um ... · 9 ISO/IEC/IEEE42010:2011ArchitectureDescrip9onforIIC Implementaon!Viewpoint Func3onal!Viewpoint Usage!Viewpoint Business!Viewpoint

Standards

14

Standards  populate  the  rooms.  We  then:  •  Iden3fy  gaps  • Write  requirements  to  fill  them  •  Request  standards  organiza3ons  to  fulfill  them
