INSIGHT SESSIONS

One Man, Two Guvnors Insight session at the National Theatre

‘The workshop was really engaging, the leader was enthusiastic and exceptionally experienced and knowledgeable. It was a great learning experience for the students to develop their understanding of Commedia and then apply it to the hilarious matinee performance of One Man, Two Guvnors.’

These 90-minute sessions take place before the matinee performances.

Designed as participatory master classes, Insight sessions are facilitated by key members of the company and creative team (such as the director, writer and stage manager) and offer a first-hand insight into the creative choices made in staging a theatre production.

This much loved play serves up a riotous double bill - a play within a play. Hurtling along at breakneck speed, it follows the backstage antics of a touring theatre company as they stumble their way through rehearsals to a shambolic first night and a final disastrous performance.
