THEATRE ARTS FAST FACTS • Organizations like The Second City and The Musical Theater Project have come to campus to perform and speak with students. • In addition to putting on two faculty-directed productions, we also put on two or more student-produced and directed plays each year — giving students an opportunity to gain valuable experience. • We are within an hour’s drive to Cleveland, home to many professional and regional theatres and to Playhouse Square, the second largest performing arts center in the United States. WHAT YOU’LL LEARN • Develop skills and knowledge in technical theatre/design, theatrical performance and theatre history/dramatic literature. • Pair your theatre major with another discipline, thanks to our flexible program. • Take elective classes like “History of the Movies,” “Storytelling in the Natural World” and “Puppetry.” • Earn one to three credit hours by performing in or working on a technical aspect of a show. STUDY ABROAD Visit England and Scotland where you’ll take in the London theatre scene, visit the town where Shakespeare was born and more. What can you do with a theatre arts degree? We do everything from 10-minute plays to full-length productions — providing opportunities for even the busiest students. Students can also join our Theatre Guild, which sponsors theatrical activities and trips.
