ToddfirstjoinedtheTASISfamilyasaCDEcounselorin1988.Heimpressedeveryonebywritingfivemusicalsfortheprogrambetween1988and1991.In1999,LynnFlemingAeschlimancommissionedhimtowriteanoriginalmusicalabout Mrs.Flemingforher90thbirthdaycelebration.ToddprimarilyworksinBerlin,whereherunsaseriesof programs for disadvantaged youth through his nonprofit organization PluralArtsInternational.HealsocreatedamusicandtheaterworkshopforIsraeliandPalestinianteenagers,whichbringsthemtoacastleinGermanyfortwoweeksofdiscussionsandcreativity, culminating inanoriginalmusicalperformedby the teens. Inaddition towritingandcomposingmusicalsandhischaritablework,Toddisalsoascreenwriterandhasseveralprojectscurrentlyindevelopment. Todd Fletcher

Kay came to TASIS in 1996 after years of teaching in the US, Aruba, Egypt, andTanzania.Irreverentandfun,Kayisadoredbyherstudents,andshegetsexceptionalperformancesfromheractors.Kayhasinspiredcountlessstudentsthroughouttheyears.Sheencouragesthosenotkeenonthespotlighttogetinvolvedinsetorproductiondesign.Highlightsofher14-yearTASIScareerincludeArsenic and Old Lace,The Taming of the Shrew,Much Ado About Nothing,Romeo and Juliet,A Comedy of Errors,The Tempest,The Bald Soprano,Picasso at the Lapin Agile, andRosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.MusicalproductionsincludeMCF: What a Life!,Oliver!,South Pacific,Oklahoma!,andBye Bye Birdie.KayisretiringthisyeartobenearherfamilyinCalifornia.

Chris spentfiveyears (1987to1992)asMusicDirectoratTASIS.Anaccomplishedpianist, conductor, musicologist, and music historian, Chris was known as a stricttaskmaster but a motivating and positive teacher. His faculty choir was a highlightoftheworkweekformanycolleagues.ChrisreturnedtoTASISin1994toperformthechallengingShostakovichPiano Trio No. 2attheArtsFestival.EducatedatYale,OberlinCollege, andHarvard,Chrishas taught at theNewEnglandConservatoryof Music, Marymount International Schools in Rome and Paris, St. Mark’s Schoolin Massachusetts, and Harare International School in Zimbabwe. He is currentlyHeadmasterofFlorenceInternationalSchool.

Gary came to TASIS as Music Director in 1992. During his eight years of service,heledthechoirsinasetofambitiousperformances,includingHaydn’s Nelson Mass,Stravinsky’s Symphony of Psalms, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Fauré’s Requiem. HealsoservedasvocalcoachforGodspell,Guys and Dolls,Grease,andOliver!Educatedat Kingston University, London, and Homerton College, Cambridge, he also holdsa Licentiate Diploma in trumpet playing from the Guildhall School of Music andDrama,London.Inthesummerof1998GarywasalsoappointedMusicalDirectoroftheSGISChoirinMontreux.GarycurrentlylivesintheUKwithhiswifeKimandworksasamusicteacherinalargecomprehensiveschoolinBrighton.

Candace taught English and Drama at TASIS from 1991 to 1996. Students wereencouraged by her enthusiasm and approachability, and many tried acting for thefirsttimeunderherguidance.Sheencouragedthemostablestudentstoexploretheircreativity,writingtheirownscript,casting,anddirecting.PlaysshedirectedatTASISincludedDancing in Lughnasa,Lady Precious Stream,Stepping Out, andThe Crucible.After leavingTASISCandaceandhusbandSimonmovedtotheUS,first toupstateNewYorkandthentoVirginia,whereshehascontinuedtoteachEnglishwhereshecontinuestoteachmusicandstageambitious,high-qualityplaysandmusicalsattheCarlisleSchool.’
