vSHIVAKUMARA KALASANGHA (R): In 1987, Sri Shivakumara Kalasangha was started by Dr|| Sri Panditharadhya Shivacharya Swamiji in Sanehalli to fulfill the wishes of his Spiritual Father Sri Shivakumara Shivacharya Swamiji. Under the auspices, theatre festivals are held regularly in Sanehalli. Seminars, Workshops, Literary activities are also conducted. Drama troupes from different parts of India will participate in the Theatre Festival scheduled in the month of November every year to perform before the learned audience of the region. SRI SHIVAKUMARA OPEN AIR THEATRE: Open Air Theatre is an another characteristic feature situated in a serene atmosphere of Sanehalli. In the festival, over four thousand audience witness drama. The open air theatre can accommodate 5000 audience at a time. The artists feel proud to perform in the open air theatre.

vSRI SHIVAKUMARA AWARD: Sri Shivakumara Award is a crown in the activities of Kalasangha. Most of the Mutts are known for their religious activities, running educational institons and providing food to the needy. In addition to these, this Math has started theatre movement; probably we don’t find any other Mutt in India other than Sanehalli Srimath which is known for theatre activities. The award is instituted in memory of the spiritual Father Sri Shivakumara Mahaswamiji. The award will be presented to a talented modern theatre artist in the fields of Acting. Stage Craft, Direction and Organization. The award carries Rupees twenty five thousand in cash and a citation. It will be presented in November every year.

vSHIVA SANCHARA: `Shivasanchara’ is a reputed Theatre Repertory of Karnataka and was founded as part of the decennial celebrations of ``shivakumara Kalasangha’’ in the year 1997. A group of 20 rural artists are selected every year and trained in histrionics under the expert guidance of theatre directors. The artists are paid a monthly honorarium and provided free boarding and lodging during their period of training. Later, selected dramas are staged by them in different parts of Karnataka throughout the year. In the last 18 years they have performed over 54 well-known plays written by celebrated playwrights, presented more than 2650 theatre shows and over 20lakh audience have witnessed their performances in different centers of India.
