THE ZODIAC STORY

Horoscopes and astrology originated with the ancient Greeks, who believed that a person’s life was pre-determined by the positioning of the sun and moon and the constellations of the stars present at the time of a person’s birth. The different constellations are more commonly known as the signs of the Zodiac.

A basic horoscope is related to a person’s time of birth, date and year as well as which one of the twelve Zodiac signs that the birth occurs in. The year is divided into twelve parts, each named after a different constellation that is prevalent in the sky. Each constellation or Zodiac sign has both positive and negative characteristics and a main planet ruler. Also attributed to each sign is one of the four elements; fire, earth, air or water each of which have different traits associated with them. Horoscope signs were used in history, as a way to foretell the future and outline an individual’s personality.
