How To Use This Copybook

Really, there is no right or wrong way to use this copybook!

Within the pages of this book, you will find sentences taken from the books that

your child will use in the Ambleside Online Year 1 curriculum. Year 1 can have a

variety of students with varying ages and abilities. Charlotte Mason advocated short

lessons in order to develop the habit of attention in children. Given those two facts,

I have only chosen three pieces of copy work per week for this level. Some children

will easily be able to do all in just three days, while others, may need to take two

days for some.

So please be forgiving if you find this to be either: too much work for your child, or

too little for another. I hope to have found a happy medium!

One idea would be that maybe you have a young six year old doing Year 1 as I do.

In that case each week in this book could offer four or five copy work sessions while

leaving one day on some weeks to perfect formation.

The back pages of this book also include copy work from The Burgess Bird Book as

each family schedules this book differently. For those with students who need more

work, these should fill that need.

However you decide to use this book…I hope it blesses you and your child.

Warmly,

Dawne
