(A Light of Revelation to the Gentiles)“A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” Luke 2:32

Hymn-Whim on DIADEMATA Dennis Bergin (Crown Him with Many Crowns)Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne;Hark, how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own.Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee,And hail him as thy matchless king through all eternity. [Chorus] There is no other name by which men can be saved,There is no other name under Heaven; There is rest for my soul and the wounded made whole,And the captives set free and forgiven.

Such love as I had never known,I’ve found in the grace that flowed to meIn my unrighteousness; This is why my heart and soul and tongue confess. [Chorus]

*God Calls Us to Worship Revelation 7:9-12 Reverend David Barnes, Associate Pastor

Pastor: I looked and behold, a great multitude that no one could number from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice,

People: “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”Pastor: And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders

and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying,

All: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever! Amen.”

God Exposes Our Need Matthew 12:18-21 Reverend Dr. Russell St. John

“Behold, my servant whom I have chosen, my beloved with whom my soul is well pleased. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he will proclaim justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel or cry aloud, nor will anyone hear his voice in the streets; a bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not quench, until he brings justice to victory; and in his name the Gentiles will hope.”

We Confess Our Sin

Christ Provides for Our Need Romans 10:13-15 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

God Reveals His Work Acts 14:26-27From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work that they had fulfilled. And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

God Proclaims His Word Reverend Mark Davis, Senior Pastor, Park Cities Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas Scripture Text Psalm 145 Sermon Title Overwhelmed

I will extol you, my God and King, and bless your name forever and ever.2 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, and his greatness is unsearchable.4 One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.5 On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.6 They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness.7 They shall pour forth the fame of your abundant goodness and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.8 The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.9 The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.10 All your works shall give thanks to you, O Lord, and all your saints shall bless you!11 They shall speak of the glory of your kingdom and tell of your power,12 to make known to the children of man your mighty deeds, and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.

13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.[The Lord is faithful in all his words and kind in all his works.]14 The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.15 The eyes of all look to you, and you give them their food in due season.16 You open your hand; you satisfy the desire of every living thing.17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways and kind in all his works.18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.20 The Lord preserves all who love him, but all the wicked he will destroy.21 My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

Reverend Mark DavisSenior PastorPark Cities Presbyterian Church Dallas, Texas

Twin Oaks welcomes Rev. Mark Davis as the 2021 Global Missions Conference speaker. Mark has been serving Park Cities Presbyterian church in Dallas, Texas, for 17 years, and as Senior Pastor for 12 years. Mark was born in Oklahoma and is a huge Sooner fan. After studying Sociology with a focus on human resource management at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), he followed the Lord’s call into ministry and worked at Heritage Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City for five years before going to Covenant Theological Seminary in 1994. He completed seminary in three years while working full-time so he could get right back into ministry. He also served as Executive Director of the Youth in Ministry Institute in St. Louis. Following graduation from seminary, Mark became the Pastor of Youth and Family at Chesterfield Presbyterian Church, in St. Louis, in 1997. Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas called him to be Pastor to Youth and Families in 2003. In 2007, Mark was named Pastor of Spiritual Life, and in 2008, he was installed as the second Senior Pastor at PCPC.

Mark met his wife, Kristina, at a Young Life camp, and they have been married for almost 30 years. Kristina got her degree in early childhood education at UCO and taught in a one-room school (K-8th grade) while Mark attended seminary. Mark considers Kristina a woman of great insight and wisdom, and one of his best counselors. They have five children, 3 daughters and 2 sons: Kara (24), Madalyn (22), Cayden (20), Esther Kate (12), and Samuel Greyson (10).
