Privacy is Dead. What does a world without privacy mean for humanity? Our reputations? Our kids? Socialnomics thought-leader Erik Qualman pays the Virtual Newsmakers Internet studio a repeat visit to talk about his new book: What Happens in Vegas Stays on YouTube. Called a Digital Dale Carnegie, Erik Qualman is the author of Socialnomics: How social media transforms the way we live and do business. Socialnomics made Amazon's #1 Best Selling List for the US, Japan, UK, Canada, Portugal, Italy, China, Korea and Germany. His book Digital Leader helped him be voted the 2nd "Most Likeable Author in the World" behind Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. He also holds the Guinness Book of World Record for the longest continuous podcast.

If you don’t post…what you are doing is allowing others to manage the reputation for you. There is going to be negative stuff posted about us, but if we’re not proactive in managing our reputation, then that’s all that shows up. If we’re proactive, that negative thing may be one small part of the story, five percent. You don’t necessarily want a perfect profile because it looks like it’s not a real person. That five percent actually helps you.
