Two puppets, Mango and Papaya, stand on the side of the road. They stare into the camera. They are bright and colorful with big eyes. Mango is a monkey and Papaya is a colorful toucan bird wearing a Carmen Miranda hat. (The world around them is animated) PAPAYA Papaya, we have to go home! MANGO How can we go home if we don’t even know where home is? PAPAYA Well, we must live somewhere. Everyone has a home! Mango notices a bus approaching. MANGO Hey, here comes the bus. 1. EXT. COUNTRYSIDE – DAY (ANIMATION #1 10 seconds)

Far away, a yellow bus rolls down the road coming towards the camera. We hear a child’s voice: COCO (O.S.)

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round, The wheels on the bus go round and round, all through the town

2. EXT. ROADSIDE – DAY (ANIMATION PLATE #1 static B.G.)

Two puppets, Mango and Papaya, stand on the side of the road. They stare into the camera. They are bright and colorful with big eyes. Mango is a monkey and Papaya is a colorful toucan bird wearing a Carmen Miranda hat. (The world around them is animated) PAPAYA Papaya, we have to go home! MANGO How can we go home if we don’t

even know where home is? PAPAYA

Well, we must live somewhere. Everyone has a home!

Mango notices a bus approaching. MANGO Hey, here comes the bus. PAPAYA Thank goodness! Maybe the bus will

be able to take us home. 3. INT. BUS DRIVER AREA – DAY (the view out the windows is animated)

Mango and Papaya step into the bus and see the BUS DRIVER, a big, green DRAGON. .

DRIVER Welcome aboard, friends. I’m Argon

the bus driver. Find a seat and we’ll be on our way!

3A. INT. BUS – DAY

Mango and Papaya take a seat. There are lots of interesting characters on the bus. COCO, a little 7 year-old-girl And the “BUSETTES” – three MOMMY with BABY #1 female sock puppets who sing MOMMY #2 as an Andrews Sister type choir DADDY with BABY #2 A four-year-old girl, DORIS, with kittens A four-year-old boy, BRETT, with puppies A CLOWN holding some balloons A SCUBA MAN in a wetsuit Three other PUPPET PASSENGERS The bus starts to drive. We HEAR the engine. The underscore begins. COCO, a seven-year-old girl looks into the camera from her seat and begins to sing: COCO

4. EXT. TOWN – DAY (ANIMATION #2 -- 12 seconds)

Different angles on the bus as it travels around the town, past buildings and parks. We hear an INSTRUMENTAL VERSION of Wheels on the Bus. SUPER MAIN TITLE – THE WHEELS ON THE BUS VIDEO

Mango and Papaya pop up next to Coco and Mommy #1. MANGO Excuse me, do you know where this bus

COCO All through the town – like the song says. But you

have to sing if you’re going to ride along. MANGO Okay. (stops) What? What do I sing? COCO You have to sing “The Wheels on the Bus.” MANGO Oh, cool! (sings) The wheels on the bus go round and round Round and round, round and round The wheels on the bus go round and round All through the town

Coco does her hands in a circular motion as Mango sings. 6. INT. DRIVER’S AREA - DAY

Mango pops into frame next to the Bus Driver as he drives. MANGO The horn on the bus goes -- Beep, beep, beep…

Angle on the horn as the Bus Driver honks it.

HORN/DRIVER Beep, beep, beep…

7. EXT. CITY STREET – DAY (ANIMATION #3 18 secs)

The bus travels down a pleasant city street. The bus horn honks LOUDLY. HONKING

HONKING Beep, beep, beep… MANGO (O.S.) All through the town.

A storm cloud appears and dumps rain on the bus. From the front of the bus we see the wipers going back and forth. MUSICAL TRANSITION – 4 seconds. EVERYONE (O.S.)

The wipers on the bus go – Swish, swish, swish Swish, swish, swish Swish, swish, swish.

MANGO (O.S.) The wipers on the bus go – Swish, swish, swish, all through the town.

8. INT. BUS – DAY

Mommy #1 plays with her baby – she makes the doors (the baby’s arms) go open and shut. MOMMY #1 The doors on the bus go open and shut. open and shut, open and shut The doors on the bus go open and shut.

10. INT. BUS – DAY

Mango looks at all the riders on the bus. Coco sits back down next to him MANGO

Wow, everybody on the bus is going somewhere. COCO Because they all something to do. MANGO Right... Where are you going?

COCO I’m going to the store with my mom

and baby brother. She gestures to Mommy #1 and Baby #1. Mommy #1 smiles and waves. 11. INT. ROW C -- DAY

Mango talks to the SCUBA MAN. MANGO Where are you going? SCUBA MAN I’m going to work at the Aquarium of the

Pacific. MANGO What do you do there? SCUBA MAN I dive into the water and feed the fish.

12. INT. ROW F -- DAY

Mango pops up next to the CLOWN who is holding some colorful helium balloons. MANGO Where are you going with all those balloons? CLOWN I’m going to a party. MANGO I love parties. 12A. INT. ROW L -- DAY Mango pops up next to a big COW. MANGO What about you, Mr. Cow? Where are You going? COW I’m going to a farm, where I live. MANGO Wow, farms have tractors and I love tractors! 13. INT. DRIVER’S AREA – DAY

Mango pops up next to the Bus Driver. MANGO Where are you going? DRIVER I’m going wherever the bus goes. I’m

the bus driver!

MANGO Ohhhh, yeah. DRIVER You see, little monkey creature… (sings)

Everybody on the bus is going somewhere. Everybody’s got something they’ve got to do People riding on the bus are going somewhere And they know exactly where they’re going to! MANGO They do? DRIVER It’s true!

14. INT. BUS – DAY

Coco sings in the middle section of the bus. We see all different types of people riding the bus – a DOCTOR; an African-American MAN in traditional garb; a TEENAGED BAND LEADER in uniform and holding a trumpet..

COCO The bus is fun to ride. PAPAYA The bus has lots of chairs. MANGO The bus goes round and round the town taking people everywhere.

MOMMY #1 People go to work. BABY #2/CLOWN People go to play. COCO People take the bus back home at the end of the day. EVERYONE That’s why we say!

15. EXT. CITY STREETS – DAY (ANIMATION #4 10 seconds)

The bus travels down the road, past businesses and parks. DRIVER/EVERYONE (O.S.) Everybody on the bus is going somewhere. Everybody’s got something they’ve got to do People riding on the bus are going somewhere And they know exactly where they’re going to!

The underscore continues as Mango, Papaya and Coco talk. MANGO We don’t know where we’re going. COCO Why not? PAPAYA Because we don’t know where our

home is. MANGO Believe it or not, we forgot!

because I’m smart, but I don’t! 19. EXT. BUS STOP – DAY (ANIMATION #5 -- 5 seconds)

The bus slows down and stops at a bus stop. A big sign points to the Aquarium. 20. INT. BUS DRIVER – DAY

The bus driver puts the bus in park. Outside his window we see the aquarium. A whale jumps into the sky. DRIVER

Everyone going to the Aquarium of the Pacific. This is where you get off! Remember -- look both ways before you cross the street!

20A. INT. BUS DRIVER – DAY

Mango and Papaya perk up next to the Scuba Man. PAPAYA Can we come with you to the Aquarium?

Maybe this is our home. MANGO Yeah! Maybe we’re creatures of the sea! SCUBA MAN C’mon. I have a friend who can show you around. 21. EXT. SEAWORLD – DAY – 2 MINUTE SEQUENCE

Mango and Papaya explore The Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific. They meet a five-foot-tall SHARK PUPPET who shows them around. They check out all the different sea creatures, marveling at their beauty. Music conveys the wonder of marine animals; also captures the reaction of Mango and Papaya as they discover this amazing world.

22. INT. MAIN HALL - DAY

The Shark, Mango and Papaya stand together. MANGO/COCO Thanks for showing us around Mr. Shark. SHARK Ah, don’t mention it! Glad you enjoyed yourselves. PAPAYA Squawk! But I don’t think the Aquarium is our

home. Everyone that lives here lives in the water! Mango and Papaya look at each other carefully. MANGO/PAPAYA We don’t live in the water. MANGO I can’t even swim. A horn HONKS. Papaya and Mango light up when they see the bus. MANGO Here comes the bus! Let’s hop on! Bye, Mr. Shark! COCO Bye… SHARK (waves) Come back any time! We’ll grab a bite! 23. EXT. CITY STREETS – DAY (ANIMATION #6 8 secs)

The bus rumbles down the road. The beat of the music begins.

Mango and Papaya sit next to the Clown. He makes a series of funny faces and actions as the music plays. Coco and Mango and Papaya crack up. They can’t stop laughing. (six seconds) 23B. INT. BUS – DAY

Mommy leads everyone in more singing MOMMY #1 The people on the bus laugh -- EVERYONE

Ha, ha, ha! Ha, ha, ha! Ho, ho, ho! Ho, ho, ho! He, he, he! He, he, he! MOMMY #1 The people on the bus laugh –

EVERYONE Ha, ha, ha! Ha, ha, ha! MOMMY #1 All through the town.

Mango jumps into frame. MANGO Hey, not everyone is laughing. There’s a

baby on the bus that’s crying!

Coco mimics the shushing sound.

Papaya looks over Daddy’s shoulder.

The Daddy on the bus says --

All over town. The baby smiles at Daddy BABY I love you, Daddy.

24. INT. BUS

Papaya pops up next to Mango and Coco. PAPAYA What else is on the bus? COCO How about a monkey? MANGO The only monkey on this bus is…me. COCO Exactly. The music STOPS as Mango realizes that his turn is up. BUSETTES The monkey on the bus says – MANGO Ooooh, Ooooh, Ooooh Ooooh, Ooooh, Ooooh Ooooh, Ooooh, Ooooh Mango gets so into his ooooh-oooohs that he ends up on the ceiling doing somersaults. BUSETTES The monkey on the bus says – COCO Ooooh, Ooooh, Ooooh BUSETTES All through the town! 25. EXT. STREET – DAY (ANIMATION #7 10 secs)

The bus drives down the road.

The singing SLOWS DOWN. Slower and slower it goes. The bus slows down too and finally it grinds to a halt. The bus looks a little sad. EVERYBODY (O.S.)

26. INT. BUS DRIVER AREA

Mango looks over the shoulder of the driver. MANGO

We’re almost out of gas!

DRIVER Oh bother! We better find the closest gas station. The bus won’t go without gas.

27. EXT. GAS STATION – DAY (ANIMATION PLATE #2 -- static)

The DRIVER walks alongside the bus with a hose in hand. He opens the gas cap and starts to pump. The driver SINGS: Two CLOWN and COCO dance as he sings. DRIVER

Fill it up! Fill it up! The bus won’t go unless you give it some gas! Fill it up! All the way! You gotta get some gas if you want to play!

Through animation (27A. ANIMATION #8 -- 9 secs), we can see into the bus’ huge gas tank. Gas begins to slosh in and fill it up. CU of Mango and Papaya as they look down from the bus window. (27B. ANIMATION PLATE #3 -- static) MANGO/PAPAYA/DRIVER

The Busettes sing from behind the gas pump next to Coco. BUSETTES/COCO Fill it up! Fill it up!

A CLOSE-UP of the driver as he pumps the gas. He sings in semi-rap. (ANIMATION PLATE #4 -- static) DRIVER You see -- Without the gas the bus won’t go.

It won’t go fast, it won’t go slow Bus won’t go high

BUSETTES/COCO Bus won’t go high! DRIVER Bus won’t go low…

MANGO/PAPAYA Bus won’t go low. DRIVER Without the gas the bus will STOP!

The driver produces a big stop sign. The music STOPS. CLOSE-UP of Coco. (ANIMATION PLATE #7 -- static)

COCO You know what, guys? Just like a bus needs gas to run, people and animals need food and water to run.

Mango responds from the window above. (ANIMATION PLATE # 3)

The same music begins. WILD TRANSITION to Coco’s kitchen. 28. INT. KITCHEN – DAY

Coco and TWO BABIES and ONE TODDLER eat and play in the kitchen. We hear Coco’s voice singing to the same tune as “Fill it up!” The BUSETTES groove from behind a counter. The kids eat all sorts of food. COCO (V.O.) Eat it up! Eat it up! Kids won’t grow unless you give ‘em some food Eat it up! All the way! You gotta fill your tummy if you want to play! Coco and the kids take big drinks of juice and milk. COCO (V.O.)

Drink it up! Drink it up! BUSETTES Drink it up! Drink it up! COCO (V.O.)

To grow up big and strong you gotta drink your milk Drink it up! All the way BUSETTES Drink it up! All the way! COCO You gotta fill your tummy if you want to play! The Busettes sing surrounded by plates full of food.

BUSETTES Corn and mush and mashed potatoes Pancakes, pasta and tomatoes Yogurt, cereal, apple pie Fresh fruit smoothie three feet high!

29. INT. GRAPHIC SEQUENCE (ANIMATION #9B – 10 secs)

Coco continues to eat in a world of food – it flies past her; bread and carrots and apple juice, etc. (shoot her GREEN SCREEN) COCO/BUSETTES Cheese and carrots and chicken soup Peas and bread, and apple juice All the food that tastes so yummy Feels so good… COCO

When it hits my tummy!

Fun DISSOLVE to Gas Station Set 30. EXT. GAS STATION – DAY

Everyone sings as the Bus Driver continues to fill up the bus.. DRIVER

Fill it up! Fill it up! MANGO/PAPAYA Fill it up! Fill it up! DRIVER/EVERYONE We’re gonna fill it up and we’re ready to go! DRIVER Fill it up! All the way! DRIVER/EVERYONE You gotta fill it up if you want to play! You gotta fill it up if you want to play!

Song hits ENDING CHORD. Everyone stops for a big ending. We can still see into the gas tank – it is all filled up. The Driver stops pumping. DRIVER That’s it. The bus is all filled up with gas. Let’s get back on the road. We’ve got a

lot of stops ahead of us!

32. EXT. ANIMATION – DAY (ANIMATION #10 – 10 seconds)

An animated traffic signal flashes GREEN and says “GO”. The music begins again. The bus slowly moves out of the gas station and onto the street. DRIVER (O.S.) Full of gas and the bus will go. Honk the horn and start to roll The bus goes high… COCO (O.S.) The bus goes high The bus travels up a hill. DRIVER (O.S.) The bus goes low… LOW VOICE (O.S.) The bus goes low The bus travels down into a valley. DRIVER (O.S.)

The bus will stop and the bus will go The bus flies down the highway. 33. INT. BUS DRIVER AREA – DAY

Coco sings at the head of the bus with the Bus Driver. COCO/BUSETTES Full of gas and the bus will go. Honk the horn and start to roll COCO The bus goes high… BUS DRIVER The bus goes low…

Everyone joins in. The Busettes leads the way. EVERYONE High, low…fast, slow The wheels on the bus gonna go, go, go! EVERYONE Stop, go…up, down The wheels on the bus go round and round!

35. EXT. CITY STREET – DAY (ANIMATION #11 – 8 secs)

The bus travels down the street. EVERYONE (O.S.)

High, low…fast, slow The wheels on the bus gonna go, go, go! Stop, go, up, down The wheels on the bus gonna STOP! The bus SKIDS to a halt.

36. INT. BUS -- DAY

Mango looks around.

MANGO Why are we stopping?

37. INT. BUS DRIVER’S AREA (ANIMATION PLATE # 8 -- static)

The Driver puts the bus in park. Outside his window we see a farm.

DRIVER Because we’re at our next stop –

Hansen’s Farm. Remember, friends -- in case of an emergency call 911!

38. INT. BUS -- DAY

The COW starts to get up and Mango and Papaya see him. PAPAYA Is this where you get off the bus, Mrs. Cow? COW Yes, that’s my farm over yonder. MANGO Maybe that’s where we live. COCO There are a lot of animals on a farm. COW C’mon. I’ll show you around. MANGO Let’s go check it out!

39. EXT. FARM - DAY Establishing shot of farm. Then we see a two-minute montage full of scenes that capture the fun and quirky nature of the animals on the farm. Mango and Papaya interact with the different animals – riding on the back of a horse; feeding a goat some celery. 40. EXT. FARM DAY

Mango and Papaya stand in front of the farm. PAPAYA Well, I don’t think the farm is our home either. We don’t “moo” or “cluck” or “baaa” at all.

MANGO Maybe we just don’t have a home!

PAPAYA Of course we do! Everybody has some kind of home.

The bus pulls away from the farm. As it does, a little mouse runs and catches up. It hops onto the bus. 42. INT. BUS – DAY

A LITTLE MOUSE climbs up next to Mango and Papaya. MOMMY #2 and four-year-old BRETT see the mouse. MOMMY #2 There’s a mouse on the bus! BRETT Oohhhhh! I’m afraid of mice! They scare me! Coco and Mango and Papaya look at each other – what a wimpy kid! We see a CLOSE-UP of the mouse as it looks around the bus. MOUSE (innocently) Eeeeh! Eeeeh! COCO The mouse on the bus goes – 43. INT. Coco finishes the song. COCO The mouse on the bus goes – MOUSE Eeeeee, Eeeee, Eeeee COCO All through the town. MANGO The people on the bus say – MOMMY #2 Watch out for the mouse!

It’s only a little mouse... MANGO

All through the town Adults react to Coco’s admonishment. The mouse pops up next to Coco. MOUSE Why are people afraid of me? COCO Because they don’t know you. PAPAYA

They don’t know how nice you are. MOUSE I am a nice little mouse. (pause) You don’t have any cheese, do you? COCO I have some string cheese. Will that do? MOUSE Oh yes! I love string cheese. Coco hands some string cheese to the mouse. Suddenly, the Mouse and Coco bump into the air. COCO/MOUSE/PAPAYA Whoa! What was that?

The bus hits some bumps as it rumbles down the road. CLOSE-UP of the wheels as they turn. The bus hits more bumps.

Mango pops into frame with the riders of the bus behind him.

MANGO The people on the bus go bumpety-bump MAN Whoooaaa!

All the passengers on the bus are thrown up and down in their seats.

MANGO Bumpety-bump MOMMY #1 Heeeeeyy! MANGO ,Bumpety-bump BAND LEADER Mommy!

49. INT. BUS DRIVER AREA – DAY BUS DRIVER

The Bus Driver gets control of the bus. BUS DRIVER The people on the bus go bumpety-bump All through the town (over his shoulder) Sorry ‘bout that folks!

COCO Okay, what else is on the bus? MANGO How about a fish? PAPAYA There’s no fish on the bus! Mango. MANGO Oh, yeah… PAPAYA

That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard. Brett, the four year-old-boy, raises a plastic bag with a goldfish in it. BRETT I have one fish. DORIS I have two fish. Doris raises another bag with two fish in it. Mommy #1 and her baby hold up a bag with three fish in it. MOMMY #1 We have three fish. PAPAYA Squawk! So many fish! All the fish are held up together. Numbers chime on next to each one – ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE, SIX. PAPAYA

Six fish. Mango smiles at the sight of the fish. The music begins: MANGO Theeeeeeee…fish on the bus go --- Wait a minute! Mango and the music screech to a stop.

Six fish on the bus go – Glub, Glub, Glub! EVERYONE Glub, Glub, Glub! Glub, Glub, Glub! Suddenly, ANIMATED FISH begin to swim through the bus – everyone watches them swimming in mid-air. (50A. ANIMATION #13 – 8 secs) CLOWN Six fish on the bus go – EVERYONE Glub, Glub, Glub! All over town MANGO I didn’t know fish can fly! PAPAYA If monkeys can sing, then anything’s possible! MANGO (confused) Yeah… 51. INT. BUS DRIVER AREA - DAY

The Bus Driver slows the bus down. BUS DRIVER Next stop -- Hill Street Neighborhood.

The clown starts to get up. CLOWN This is where we’re putting on our show. MANGO Can we come too? CLOWN Sure! Everybody’s invited to see the

Jumbo Shrimp Circus! MANGO A circus! Let’s go.

53. EXT. BACKYARD – MONTAGE

The Clown hosts a great party. There are lots of other babies and kids and Moms and Dads. The Clown makes funny faces, and creates creatures out of balloons. He walks on stilts and towers above the kids. He juggles and rides a unicycle. 54. EXT. BUS – DAY (ANIMATION #14 – 6 seconds)

The bus rumbles down the road. The beat of the music begins. We hear one measure before singing begins.

DRIVER (O.S.) Everybody on the bus is going somewhere. Everybody’s got something they’ve got to do

We see a CLOSE-UP of the Bus Driver as he sings. DRIVER

People riding on the bus are going somewhere And they know exactly where they’re going to!

The bus is fun to ride. PAPAYA The bus has lots of chairs. COCO The bus goes round and round the town taking people everywhere.

MOMMY #1 People go to work. COCO People go to play. MANGO People take the bus back home at the end of the day. EVERYONE That’s why we say! DRIVER/EVERYONE Everybody on the bus is going somewhere. Everybody’s got something they’ve got to do People riding on the bus are going somewhere And they know exactly where they’re going to!

Mango and Papaya and Coco sit together. PAPAYA Well, we still don’t know where we’re going. MANGO (frustrated) But we must have a home somewhere.

They all turn to see big bubbles floating past the windows of the bus (57A ANIMATION for outside window). Everyone looks at them in awe. PAPAYA Bubbles! MANGO I love bubbles!

Bubbles surround the bus as it drives along the road.

59. INT. BUS – DAY

Big bubbles float through the bus. Everyone looks at them in awe. MANGO Wow! They’re so round. PAPAYA Bubbles are always round - squawk! Doris reaches out and pops one of the largest bubbles. Mango pops one with his hand. COCO The bubbles on the bus go – Pop! Pop! Pop! CLOSE-UPS of fingers popping bubbles. POP SOUND Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop! Pop!

The mouse looks around nervously as he sits next to Mango and Papaya. MOUSE Are there really kitties on this bus? I’m

afraid of kitties. PAPAYA They won’t hurt you MOUSE I better get off the bus at the next stop! MANGO What is the next stop? 66. INT. BUS DRIVER AREA - DAY The Bus Driver slows the bus down. We see a sign for the zoo out his window. BUS DRIVER

Glad you asked my little Monkey Face. The next stop is – the city zoo.

67. INT. BUS – DAY

Mango looks out the window all excited. MANGO The zoo? (looks to Papaya) Maybe that’s where we live! PAPAYA Yes, that does have a familiar sound to it. Let’s go to the zoo! 68. EXT. ZOO - DAY Mango, Papaya and Coco walk through the zoo. They look at all sorts of animals. Mango and Papaya can’t believe how big the elephants are! And how cute the Koala bears are..

Finally, they are in front of the monkey enclosure. Mango opens his mouth wide. MANGO Hey! Those are monkeys, just like me! PAPAYA/COCO You’re right, Mango. MANGO This is our home! This is where we live! PAPAYA Yes, I just remembered. -- we live at the zoo! Mango and Papaya jump up and down. MANGO/PAPAYA/COCO Hooray! Hooray! (sing) Thanks to the bus now – We are home! COCO You are home! MANGO/PAPAYA We are home! MANGO/PAPAYA

Thanks to the bus – We are home! Home at last. HOME AT LAST!

70. EXT. BUS – DAY (ANIMATION PLATE #6 static)

Mango and Papaya say goodbye to Coco. We can see the Bus Driver through the open door of the bus. COCO Goodbye Mango. Goodbye Papaya. MANGO This isn’t goodbye, Coco.
