The Welcoming Interactive is one of the nation’s largest gatherings of public and private sector leaders working to create more inclusive and equitable communities for everyone, including immigrants. It delves into the successful practices, partnerships, and policies in immigrant inclusion—including economic development, connected communities, civic engagement, government leadership, and more.

Attendees will learn about other communities’ local innovations and come away with new ideas and energy to take back home, and explore critical issues like how to navigate changes at the federal level and how to counter hate.

The Welcoming Interactive has always been anchored and co-hosted by the local city where the

conference is situated. The City of Charlotte plays a vital role in immigrant inclusion work in the

South, and carrying the voice of local leaders and organizations in Charlotte and the region at

large. We are excited to host this important convening with them.

Welcoming America inspires people to build a different kind of community — one that

embraces immigrants and fosters opportunity for all. We are leading a

movement of inclusive communities across the nation becoming more prosperous by making everyone who lives there feel like

they belong.

The Welcoming Interactive will be held at the Marriott

City Center, in the heart of diverse, downtown

Charlotte. Receptions and meetings will also take

place in the city core: the Wells Fargo Atrium, the

Mint, Foundation for the Carolinas, and more.

Reflecting a diversity of identities, cultures, and backgrounds, our 400+

attendees from local government, business and NGOs offer an opportunity for

business and organizations to develop relationships and support diversity and

inclusion.

The Welcoming Interactive equips local communities with resources, tools,
