Workers wanted for person changing business.

Here’s a story. It’s part of a conversation that was held on a plane between a bloke called Jeff Cotter who was returning from a job interview and a businessman sitting next to him. Jeff was struck by Businessman’s pride in his work and achievements as he talked about the power and importance of what he did. This was Jeff’s reply. I, too, am part of an international organisation with at least one office in every town in Britain and America. Management has a plan to put at least one office in every country of the world by the end of this business era. Mr Businessman was all ears. ‘This is quite something’, he said. The business is a family concern run by a Father and Son who are in charge of everything. They are amazing to work for.

The company is in good health and there is no worry about the future because there is never a shortage of resources. The Boss always seems to have enough. He’s a very creative guy and the money is always there. “Wow” said Businessman, “not many organisations can say that!” Those of us who work in the organisation have a saying about our Boss that he owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Not that he looks after cattle, it’s just a manner of speaking to indicate his wealth.

And do you know what, there is an amazing Spirit that pervades the organisation. It works like this: the Father and Son love each other so much that their love filters down so that we all find ourselves loving one another too. Now I know this may sound old-fashioned in a world like ours, but such is the devotion of many that they are willing to put their lives on

the line. Businessman was enthralled.

The benefits are substantial. You are provided with complete life insurance.

The Boss is available to see you at any moment in the day. You also get a handbook that deals with a bit of the organisation’s history but more importantly gives you ideas about how to deal with day-to-day matters. On top of all that, as an employee, you are given a holding in a mansion with many rooms one of which is especially furnished for you. The Company has a 2000-year-old tradition. The Father and Son don’t require you to have any qualifications; they will accept you just as you are. There are always vacancies no one is ever turned away. Want to signup? Hereforyou

A group of ordinary, everyday people we strive to live out our lives in the way Jesus taught. There will be times when we think, say or do something that makes us lift up our hands

and go aarrgghh! But the good news of the gospel is that Jesus

knows what we're like and still loves us. When we stumble He picks us up, dusts us

down and allows us to continue on our journey in trying to stay close to Him.

At ‘Seaside Rock, we had a ‘whale of a time’.

With crafts and stories and songs that rhyme.

The parachute game was best of all

Rising up and then it would fall. I took home a cross of a sad and happy day

Reminding me of Jesus who can take my sins away.

Sadly the week came to an end. But I’m happy to know Jesus is my friend.
