About United Methodism

To help us learn about United Methodism, this series will orient us to the denomination's mission, structure, and ministries. Five geographic jurisdictions (regions) in the US include eight to fifteen annual conferences each. Jurisdictional conferences meet every four years to elect and assign bishops and some members of general church agencies. The Western North Carolina Annual Conference belongs to the Southeastern Jurisdiction, located in North Carolina. To learn more about the Southeastern Jurisdiction, visit www.sejumc.org.

Don’t miss your chance to make an

Providence UMC Weekday School’s St. Jude Trike-A-Thon Raises Over $5,100

Over 200 children participated in the 14th Annual St. Jude Trike-A-Thon March 9, 11, and 12 to raise funds for the hospital that provides care for children facing cancer.

The Trike-A-Thon is an exciting event involving the children of the preschool and benefiting many others. The money raised through this event goes directly to children in need at our regional St. Jude's Hospital located in Memphis, Tennessee. Currently, there are 451 children being helped in our area. These families are never asked to pay what the insurance does not cover.

The children rode bikes, trikes, and scooters, with the youngest ones pushing toys along the track in Wolfe Hall.

With over $5,100 raised this year, Providence UMC Weekday School has donated over $95,000 throughout our years of involvement, and our children have learned valuable lessons about helping others.

What a privilege to ride for those who cannot!
