Budget Overrides are allowed every five years and must be passed by voters. Each Casa Grande Ele- mentary School District budget override has been supported by the chamber and has been passed by voters. Hiring of teachers is very competitive. If the measure does not pass, the district will have to shift money and teachers’ salaries may be reduced. There may be cuts to teacher salaries if the continu- ance of the current budget override does not pass. Beginning with the 2016 awards, the individual Business Leader Award was changed to Excellence in Business Awards to recognize a business that has demonstrated success and growth; communi- ty involvement; leadership development; dedication to employees and commitment to customer service. There are two cate- gories: Small Business, 1-20 employees and Large Business, 21 or more employees. In addition to the Excellence in Business nominations, the chamber is seeking nominations of individuals for the 2018 Community Service Award and individuals for induction into the Chamber’s Hall of Fame. Click here for a list of Past Award Recipients. Membership in the Greater Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce, is a requirement for all three catego- ries. Nomination criteria is available on the chamber website and at the chamber office. Deadline to return completed nomina- tions is Wednesday, October 17, 2018. Those making nominations are encouraged to include letters of support and materi- als to enhance the nominations. Awards will be presented at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner on Friday, January 4, 2019. Greater Casa Grande Chamber of Commerce supports continuation of Casa Grande

Elementary School District Budget Override
