When you comment somewhere, you will come back at least once to the same place, and that my friend is called retention: drawing the user back to the same place / site.

The most basic form of retention is asking the readers to comment below.

The commenting platform - Facebook, LinkedIn, Disqus and even WordPress, informs the users about any activity on the page, drawing them back to the post.

User’s curiosity will also do the trick. Either way it’s a simple retention method.

If you are using a WordPress blog then consider one of the alternatives: Facebook commenting or Disqus platform - these are the two major ones.

I personally prefer Facebook comments because the comments are published both on site and on the users’ Facebook timeline, delivering more exposure.
