Our Lord does not go on with the rest of the
Discourse until after Judas is dismissed. Why?

Our Lord does not go on with the rest of the
Discourse until after Judas is dismissed. Why?
Bible doctrine teaching is not for the unbeliever.
![Page 6: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
The only issue for the unbeliever is the gospel, made up of Christology,
Soteriology and some Hamartiology.
![Page 7: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
The main point in John 13 is not salvation, but the
washing of the soul of the believer who has sinned
post-salvation.
![Page 8: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Verse 12, “After He had washed their feet”.
Jesus finally convinced Peter that washing meant continued fellowship with
the Christ.
![Page 9: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
With clean feet they can take part in the last
Passover; with dirty feet they could not.
Applies to the Eucharist too!
![Page 10: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/10.jpg)
When saved, we are washed all over,
1 Cor. 6:9-11; Titus 3:5-6.
![Page 11: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/11.jpg)
Titus 3:5, “He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have
done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
6whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our
Savior.”
![Page 12: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/12.jpg)
When we confess our daily sins our “walk” is
cleansed, 1 John 1:7-9.
[Priest example in Ex. 29:4; 30:17-21]
![Page 13: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/13.jpg)
“Taken His garments”, after washing the disciples’ feet Jesus put His garments
on again and returned to His former position.
![Page 14: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/14.jpg)
Laying aside His outer garments, represented
laying aside His Deity, so that He could be the
humble priest-servant of all at the Cross.
![Page 15: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
Putting it back on, says He resumed His position as the
God/Man in Hypostatic Union.
![Page 16: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
At the Cross His humanity suffered and died for the
forgiveness of our sins, not His Deity, so that we could
LOUO and NIPTO.
![Page 17: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Once the job was finished, He is dressed again, just as
He received His burial clothes.
![Page 18: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
Putting on His garments, is analogous to the
resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ in Hypostatic
Union.
![Page 19: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/19.jpg)
It also signifies the provision for dressing us in regeneration for eternal life, coupled with
the promise of our resurrection. Rom 13:12-14; 1 Cor
15:53-54; Eph 4:24; Eph 6:11-14; Col 3:10-14; 1 Thes 5:8; 2 Cor 5:2-
4; John 3.

"And reclined at the table again", He took the
seat He was previously occupying. A picture of
His ascension and session, being seated at the right
hand of the Father.
![Page 21: The Upper Room Discourse John 13-16; John 13:11-12, Learn from this Picture](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062315/56814c37550346895db93d4e/html5/thumbnails/21.jpg)
The whole picture. His humanity on the cross, His resurrection, followed by
ascension and session.
