OK – be honest, the blue design spaces, green collaborative and grey community spaces are bland and boring.
BUT we can add some glitz to them!
Click on the cog, and go to Look and Feel
Give your portlet a title rather than Publication. Tick on Use Custom Title and add your title.
Take the tick off Show Borders, this takes off the large grey area around all applications.
Choose a background colour for your portlet, after you save these alterations, be sure to click on the refresh button for the website
to view the change.
Once you have finished working on your space, it is possible to hide the menu across the top of all portlets, such as Look & Feel and Configuration.
Go to Actions, click on Edit Control.
It is easy to change your background with the Ultranet CSS Generator, created by Darrel Branson.
http://www.smsn.vic.edu.au/ultranetcss/
Backgrounds can be changed for all areas of the Ultranet. Click on “Let’s do it” to begin changing the background colour
There are lots of colours to choose from for background colours, font colours, tab
colours, hyperlink colours, in fact every part of your space can be easily changed
with the click of a button.
When you are finished choosing your colours, the generator will give you the
code required, this need to be copied .. .. ..
Open up the Look and Feel on any portlet in your space, and click on the Advanced Styling tab
Paste the code into this section here(Ctrl V or right click and paste)
Click here (add a CSS rule for all ....)And here ( Update the styles .....)
Be sure to click on save – a ‘Before’ shot with the traditional background and tabs
The ‘After’ shot – with a pale blue background and blue tabs
An Ultranet space looking very different!
