1. Create a new task for a new problemHave you ever tried to dig through an email thread that has 20 replies from different people? It’s a nightmare.

To avoid this, send a new email for each new issue you need help with. This approach makes it easy for everyone: you’ll know exactly when your task is complete and you’ll avoid trawling through your old emails, too.

7. Use screenshots and video clipsTools like Skitch (in Evernote) and Jing (free) make it super easy to create screenshots and add notes to them.

Jing allows you to capture everything that is happening on your screen in a video. Like Skitch, it also quickly uploads the video to a secret URL to enable you to share it with your support team. Jing videos are limited to 5 minutes, which is more than enough for small WordPress fixes. For larger videos, you can use Camtasia (PC) or Screenflow (Mac). Screenflow is the software we used to put together the video above.

8. Hit *refresh* to make sure you’re not looking at the cached versionIf you can’t see your fix, it’s probably because you are looking at an older, cached version of your page. Most cache issues can be resolved by hitting Control + F5 (Windows) or Command + R (Mac), which will refresh your page. If that doesn’t work, clear your internet history including your cache to retrieve the latest version.

Cache issues create a lot of headaches, so rule this out before checking back with your support team.

Google Maps API1. Visit the Google reCAPTCHA website: http://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/index.html

2. Click the ‘Get reCAPTCHA button’

3. Register your website by providing a label value and the domain name of the website

4. Once the registration is completed, you will be presented with the site key (public key) and secret key (private

key) and the procedure to integrate reCAPTCHA

Facebook API1. Login into your facebook account

2. Then go to facebook developer application: http://www.facebook.com/developers/

3. Click on the Apps link

4. Click on Create New App

5. Enter the App Name and other details

6. Enter the email address for the application hosting

7. Click on continue button

8. Go to the Apps Page: https://developers.facebook.com/apps

9. Select the app you have created

10. You will see the API key and the app secret key below the settings label

Twitter API

1. Go to https://dev.twitter.com/apps/new

2. If necessary, log in

3. Enter your Application Name, Description and your website address

4. You can leave the callback URL empty

5. Accept the TOS, and solve the CAPTCHA

6. Submit the form by clicking the Create your Twitter Application

7. Copy the consumer key (API key) and consumer secret from the screen into your app

HOW TO SET UP API KEYS


Instagram API1. Go to http://instagram.com/developer

2. Login to your account

3. Then click on Manage Clients

4. Click on Register a New Client

5. Fill out the Application Name, Description, Website and set the OAuth redirect_uri field to http://localhost

6. Do not check Disable implicit OAuth or Enforce signed header

7. You will see a Success message as seen in the photo below

8. Copy the Client ID code

9. Paste the following url into your web browser: https://instagram.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=[CLIENT_ID_

HERE]&redirect_uri=http://localhost&response_type=token&scope=public_content

10. Add the Client ID you generated to the url replacing [CLIENT_ID_HERE]

11. Press enter and you will connect to Instagram

12. Instagram will ask if you want to grant the client you registered in Step 2 access to your account.

13. Once your client has been granted access to your account, Instagram will redirect your browser to your

localhost and your newly generated access token will be appended to the url after localhost/#access_token=

14. Treat your Instagram access token like you would your password - do not share your access token with anyone.

15. Everything after the equals sign (=) is your access token
