    The Twenty First Century Indian

    INTRODUCTION:

That which you call your soul or spirit is your consciousness, and that which you

call free will is your minds freedom to think or not, the only will you have, your

only freedom, the choice that controls all the choices you make, determines yourlife and character

    - Ayn Rand, Atlas ShruggedThere is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you

do, when you really want something, it's because that desire originated in the soul

of the universe. It's your mission on earth.

    - Paul Coelho, The Alchemist

The time ahead is an exciting phase for every Indian. Our Country is the secondfastest growing country in the world after China. India is the place to be if one wants

to live a happy and a prosperous life. However, India is not perceived to be a nation

that could execute very high and ambitious goals. We have been a highly corrupt

nation for all these years. We are known for our poor execution skill and lethargic

attitude. The solution for this problem lies in having an altruistic vision and objective

    execution.

    OBJECTIVE EXECUTION:

My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own

happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his

noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute

    - Ayn Rand, Atlas ShruggedObjectivism holds that there is no greater moral goal than achieving happiness. But

one cannot achieve happiness by wish or whim. Fundamentally, it requires rational

respect for the facts of reality, including the facts about our human nature and needs.

Happiness requires that one live by objective principles, including moral integrity and

respect for the rights of others. Politically, Objectivists advocate laissez-faire

capitalism. Under capitalism, a strictly limited government protects each person's

rights to life, liberty, and property and forbids that anyone initiate force againstanyone else. The heroes of Objectivism are achievers who build businesses, invent

technologies, and create art and ideas, depending on their own talents and on tradewith other independent people to reach their goals. Objectivism is optimistic, holding

that the universe is open to human achievement and happiness and that each personhas within him the ability to live a rich, fulfilling, independent life.

    ALTRUISTIC VISION:

The increasing disparity between the rich and the poor of this country has been a topic

of debate since the economic liberalization. The rich gets richer and the poor gets

poorer. If at all we show some resilience and determination in making the society agood place, the disparity would be a forgotten story. Thus an altruistic vision would

help us to choose between ambiguous yet significant choices.

    CONCLUSION:

Thus the twenty first century Indian with an objective approach and altruistic

perception could make the world a better place.
