The Truth: The Book of Genesis The Book of Genesis is the first book of The Holy Bible; thought to have been written by Moses that details the creation of the heaven and the earth, the worldwide flood and Noah’s Ark, the life of Abraham and the births of Isaac and Jacob and the covenant between God and Israel. The Book of Genesis records the beginning of history in time like no other book in The Holy Bible. So many events such as the record of God creating the heaven and the earth, the creation of all life on the earth and the creation of Man (Adam) and Woman (Eve) are taught to the world in just the first two chapters that begin The Book of Genesis. Man’s fall into sin and curse of death that resulted at the time of Man’s fall into sin is taught beginning in the third chapter. In the chapters that follow, readers are learn of the worldwide flood that God sent upon the earth to destroy all life that lived upon the earth due to the wickedness and violence that filled the earth after the fall of man into sin is recorded. Students of The Holy Bible learn about Noah and the Ark that God had instructed him to build before the flood waters came, which God used to save His servant Noah and Noah’s wife, their three sons and their sons’ wives (eight people in all) and two of every creature (animal and insect) that breathed air and lived on the face of the earth on-board the Ark which Noah had built from the flood that was sent to cover all of the earth. After the flood, we learn about Abraham, Issac and Jacob and the creation of Israel. We learn about Israel’s development as a people and a nation before they fled into Egypt to seek refuge from the devastation from a severe drought that continued for seven years.
