Geography

• Tropical rainforests are located around the equator where temperatures stay near 80 degrees year round.

• Rainforests receive 160 to 400 inches of rain each year.

• Rainforests cover less than two percent of the Earth's surface.

• Rain falls nearly every day. The temperature during the day is around 30ºC - 35ºC. At night it drops to between 20ºC - 25ºC.

• Weigh about 240 to 500 pounds• Live about 8 to 10 years• Can eat up to 60 pounds of meat• There diet is buffalo, deer, wild pigs and other

Botany(plant life)

• Vanilla is the only orchid that is grown for purposes other than its flowers. It is native to Mexico and was introduced into Europe in the mid 16th century by the Spanish.

• Black pepper and hot pepper, which are not closely related. Black pepper is in India and Cambodia and was the spice that above all drove the spice trade.
