Taking care of our teeth

• You should brush your teeth after eating.

Plaque

Plaque is a sticky layer of germs that forms on your teeth. Brushing washes it away.

Floss

Floss between your teeth to get rid of plaque.

Toothpaste

• Toothpaste should have fluoride to fight tooth decay.

Tooth decay

• A hole that forms when tooth enamel is eaten away is called a cavity. This type of tooth decay can be prevented if you brush your teeth.

Eat health snacks

• Health snacks can help your teeth grow strong and reduce the chance of tooth decay (cavities).

• If you chew gum or sip soda, the sugarless kind is a whole lot better for your teeth.

• Adults have 32 teeth but children have fewer because they lose baby teeth as adult teeth grow.

• In addition to chewing, teeth help you speak clearly.

• Regular visits to the dentist are important.
