The Thinking Mind from Emotional Intelligence for Personal Leadership bookIts 10 AM. Your boss/partner/most important customer leaves a voicemail in a gruff voice, We have to talk. Call me at 2 PM. What thoughts and feelings come up?

This is called awfulizing.

How many thoughts does the average human being have in a day?

60,000

Future = 40%

Past = 30%

Doubt = 12%

Worries about health = 10%

92% of our thoughts are not a true picture of NOW. Now is where Michael Jordan lived and all the great athletes and performers live. (Music examples people lost in what they play)

You dont have to believe every thing you think.

Its the belief that drives the amygdala. The key is not dont think about it, just dont let it control you.

My guess is that this also means that its the NEAR FUTURE that people are thinking about get closer to now and a larger picture.
