And Jehovah said to him, “I have heard your prayer … I have hallowed this house, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and mine eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.”

Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, … nor did any arise like him.

II Kings 23: 25

Surely … you shall go to your grave in peace; and your eyes will not see all the calamity which I will bring on this place.

II Kings 22: 20

Now it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim … that this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying: “Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, … from the days of Josiah even to this day. It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the adversities which I purpose to bring upon them, that everyone may turn from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.”

Jeremiah 36: 1 - 3

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon). … For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me: “Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it. And they will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”

Jeremiah 25: 1, 15, 16

RIGHTOUSNESS JECONIAH

"Behold, the days are coming," says the Lord, “that I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” Jeremiah 23: 5, 6

Page 19: The Temple Part 5: The Glory Departs

Then He said to me, "The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of bloodshed, and the city full of perversity…” Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple … and the cloud filled the inner court. Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the Lord's glory. And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court … And the cherubim … lifted their wings to mount up from the earth … Then the glory of the Lord departed from the threshold of the temple and stood over the cherubim. And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain which is on the east side of the city.

And the cherubim lifted their wings and mounted up from the earth in my sight.

To the angel of the church of Ephesus write …

“I know your works, your labor, your patience, … and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary.

Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent.

Revelation 2: 2 - 5

Page 22: The Temple Part 5: The Glory Departs

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from

me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

Psalm 51: 10 - 12

Page 23: The Temple Part 5: The Glory Departs

But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy. Therefore He brought against them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, on the aged or the weak … Then they burned the house of God, broke down the wall of Jerusalem, burned all its palaces with fire, and destroyed all its precious possessions. And those who escaped from the sword he carried away to Babylon, where they became servants to him … to fulfill the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah.

II Chronicles 36: 16 - 21

Page 24: The Temple Part 5: The Glory Departs

I will work a work in your days which you would not believe though it were told you. For, indeed, I am raising up the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation … terrible and dreadful …

Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time … Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come…. Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk 1: 5 – 7; 2: 2 - 4

Page 25: The Temple Part 5: The Glory Departs

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men…
