The Favor Factor

There’s a popular talent show on television called “The X Factor.” The judges study the different con-

testants and try to figure out who has that indefinable “something” that makes them stand out. You can’t necessarily put your finger on it. It’s not just talent, looks or personality. There’s something about them that gives them an advantage. I’ve heard the judges

say, “I don’t know what it is, but you’ve got it.” They call it the “X Factor.”

In the same way, when God breathed His life into you, He put something in you to give you an advantage in

this life. There is something about you that makes you stand out, something that draws opportunity, some-

thing that causes you to overcome obstacles, to accom-plish dreams. Scripture calls it “the gracious hand of God.” It’s God’s favor. It’s His blessing. You can’t put your finger on it. It’s not just your talent, your educa-tion, your hard work. It’s Almighty God breathing in

your direction. You could call it “the favor factor.”

Today, remember, if you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you’ve got it! Receive it by faith today and let His favor shine on your every step!

Friends, success in this life isn’t necessarily about how popular, influential or educated someone is.

Success is about living a life of excellence in obedi-ence to God’s Word. When we step out to do what

God has called us to do, scripture says that His favor surrounds us like a shield. When we have His favor, we have everything, and we have an advan-

tage for success!

God’s favor opens the right doors. His favor will bring good breaks. The favor of God will cause you

to accomplish what you could not accomplish on your own. It gives you an edge. Now, if you’re going to see the gracious hand of God at work in your life,

you can’t go through the day feeling intimidated, thinking that you’re average, looking around and comparing yourself to everyone else. No, you have to live like you have His favor, think like you have favor, talk like you have favor, walk like you have favor, dress like you have favor! Not arrogantly.

Not in a way that portrays that you’re better than somebody else, but with a quiet confidence knowing

that you have the gracious hand of God on your life! Live like you’ve got it because you do!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for Your grace, favor and mercy upon my life. I praise You today because You are good. I receive Your truth by faith and rise up to walk in my calling. I know that You are going be-

fore me to prepare the way as I walk in Your favor all the days of my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.

done from beginning to end.

GOOD NEWS!

I shared the following words in my ‘GOOD NEWS!’ article last week, quoting myself, “Faith in God is the action the biblical patriarchs placed their trust in, even though some of the experiences made no sense from the human perspective. And yet we can read over and over again throughout the pages of the Holy Bible and see the power of God demonstrated in all that fully trusted in him, results that produced his good news.” I do not need to tell you things are getting tougher by the day it seems, in almost every area you will either read or see first hand in some cases the negative path things are headed towards. One day last year I was asked by an individual the following question- “What are signs the bible speaks of that we can look for showing that the world is close to ending?” Follow me regardless of what

we hear or see I have good news.

Habakkuk a prophet of God, is a prophet or you can say a preacher of the word of God that unlike most prophets that are assertive meaning straight forward or dogmatic, he speaks our word to God. In other words when you read his book you will find he faces God with our disappointments trying to make sense of things. For example he complained of the following as it reads in Habakkuk 1:2-4 “ 2 How long, LORD, must I call for help, but you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Vio-lence!” but you do not save? 3 Why do you make me look at injustice? Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? De-struction and violence are before me; there is strife, and conflict abounds. 4 Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never prevails. The wicked hem in the righteous, so that justice is perverted.” Now stay with me, in God’s

word we can always find good news.

I think we can agree if you are like me sometimes when things around us do not seem to make any sense at all we have probably asked similar questions like Habak-kuk. You see during the time of his complaining to God the Jews were being obstinate, just flat out rebellious towards God. So Habakkuk deplores the corruptions which then prevailed, so he warns the Jews of the ap-proaching ruin, but we also see he also applies consola-tion, God tolerated the pride of the Jewish enemies the Chaldeans to a certain degree. Habakkuk understood that in order for people around him to listen to his ex-hortation to repent he had to live as an example, and so he turns to supplication and prayer. Well just like in the days of Habakkuk we today see an escalation of rebel-lious obstinacy of the people, but hang on I have some

good news.

I’m not a teacher of the last day prophesies, and so when I’m asked related questions I cannot breakdown detailed codes or descriptive information. But look around you its clear to see the hatred towards Israel, Christians, Middle East Crisis, Global Economy, The Political Arena, Rise and Influence of False Religions, and other key factors tell us the time of our departing of this age is near. The prophets received a word from God for things to come, and Jesus Christ also talked about signs to look for that point to the end of this age and his second return. Habakkuk chose to live by faith re-gardless of his complaint and kept trusting in God, how about you? It is written in John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” Family, friend, trust in

faith in his word and experience good news.

Family/extended family, friends greetings to all! At some point or another we have felt overwhelmed especially when things around us do not make

any sense at all. Could be an illness of a loved one, unfair treatment at our place of employment, or just flat out something that is beyond you. It is ok to feel this way, but whatever the situation

might be God is aware. In a hospital visit last month I shared these words to a patient, we prayed and uttered words something like this, “God we have limits but you don’t.” After we prayed made I this comment, “could it be in your continued trust in God he will use this situation to give you a

testimony and draw your family and others to Jesus.” This family member agreed.Matthew 6:34 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each

day has enough trouble of its own.”

Little Angels

When God calls little children to dwell with Him above, we

sometime question the wisdom of His love. For no heartache

compares with the death of one small child who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold, so

He picks a rosebud before it can grow old.

God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few

to make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view. Believ-
