I. Objectives: After the students read the picture book, “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” they will be able to:

1. Respond and relate the story to their personal experiences.

2. Summarize the story using pictures that depict the main events.

3. Analyze and compare their family with Peter Rabbit’s family.

4. Help Peter find the solution to his problem.

II. Materials • Story “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” • Construction Paper • Crayons, color pencils, or markers • Scissors • Glue • Pencils

III. Procedure A. Initial Activities

1. Greetings 2. Roll Call 3. Statement of Aim:

“Students, today we will be reading The Tale of Peter Rabbit.”

4. Students will predict what will happen in the story by observing the title page.

B. Developmental Activities

1. Read the story. 2. After reading the story, the teacher will ask

questions allowing students to respond. 3. The teacher will divide the students in groups

in which they will cut and paste the sequence of events.

4. The teacher will explain the sequence of events with the help of the students.

C. Closing Activities

1. The teacher will discuss the different types of families.

2. After the discussion, the students will draw their family on construction paper. Volunteers will introduce their family to the rest of the class.

3. After this activity, the teacher will facilitate a maze where students will help Peter Rabbit find his way out of trouble.
