POLITICAL YEAR
2014 has been an interesting election year.
Never before we see Indonesian care about the
result of the presidential election.
2014 is different. For the first time in Indonesian
history, we have a candidate who have done
more contribution than political maneuvers.
Jokowi was the city mayor of Jakarta, and was
city mayor Solo (Surakarta). He has won people
‘s heart by his action and low profile attitude.
BACKGROUND STORY
1CREATIVE INDUSTRY
Indonesia is blessed with multi-cultural diversities
across the country. Not only it sparks the growth of
art and culture, it has also been a strong foundation
for a world class creative industry.
However, the people has never seen or heard a
strategic support from the government. Most even
believe they don’t really care.
Jokowi, however, has won the creative people’s
heart. He has shown great understanding and
commitment for the creative industry.

CREATIVE SUPPORT
During his campaign, Jokowi has moved
millions of support from the creative community.
Designers and comic artist have shown their
support through social medias.
There are even some organic movements that
independently organized by volunteers. For an
instance, a month before the election, the
supporters even organized a music concert for
Jokowi: Konser Salam 2 Jari.
BACKGROUND STORY
3A TROPHY FOR ALL
Jokowi wins the election. It was a big win for all
creative supporters as well.
Marketeers magazine was inspired to publish a full
magazine about Jokowi’s leadership and political
journey entitled “JOKOWOW”.
Which also became a great chance for creative
community to contribute and collaborate.

ACTIVITY
COVER DESIGN CO-CREATION CHALLENGE
We hold a design contest in collaboration with
KREAVI, the largest creative network in
Indonesia.
Artists and designers are asked to create their
artwork based on the reference and brief set.
They are free to explore any artistic way to
show Jokowi’s character and personality from
their perspective.

COVER DESIGN VOTING
We curated top designs and open a public
voting to get 17 best / most favorite designs.
It was a movement from the people, by the
people, for the people (“Dari rakyat, oleh rakyat,
untuk rakyat”)

We have broke world record for the first
magazine with 17 different covers for an edition
(according to Indonesia’s Record Museum)

PRODUCTION AND PROMOTION
We produced top 17 designs and sell it publicly
as collectible items. People who manage to
obtain 17 covers will win a holiday trip to Bali.

From JOKOWOW to Indonesia WOW- In September 2014, Marketeers initiated The Indonesia WOW movement which was launched by the
President Joko Widodo- Up until now, the movement brings together people around 18 cities in Indonesia to be creative and
productive- There’s now a pop-song, music album and a gallery which is riding on “Indonesia WOW” movement
