STM Co Ltd is the sole distributor of SCAG grass cutting equipment in the UK and several European countries.
We are also the UK distributors of Humus mulching equipment, the RoboFlail range of remote control mowers and Wisconsin Engineering garden tractors.
In addition, STM manufacture a number of complementary products designed to extend and enhance the range of SCAG grass cutting machinery.
The company was founded by Simon Tullett in 1990, drawing on the knowledge and experience acquired from a lengthy career within the agricultural and horticultural machinery industry. Since that time STM has deservedly earned a reputation for distributing high quality, highly productive and reliable products with an aftersales and support service to match.
STM promotes a “try before you buy” policy, encouraging prospective customers to arrange a demonstration of equipment on their own terrain.

Humus Pedestrian and ride on cutting systems
Low-profile flail heads, featuring a choice between the Humus “System Flail” range [shown below in red] and the award winning Humus “Safety-cut” mulching system.
The specially designed deck for use with the Scag SWZ pedestrian, Tiger Cat and Turf Tiger ride-on mowers features the benefits of Humus grasscutting and mulching technology.
The “System” range features a carrier [A] for receiving two types of blade, also the B and C styles of club flail.
The Humus “Safety Cut” system is based on a totally different mulching principle - the special design and arrangement of the multi-toothed cutting blades fixed at the rotor eliminates almost completely the risk of stones and other material being thrown out.
The unique spiral cutting action that rotates at over 4000 rpm ensures continuous reduction to mulch and can clear even the toughest grass and brush up to 1200mm tall in a single pass.
Quality, performance and safety
36” and 42” Super Mulch decks are available for the pedestrian mower, providing easy manoeuvrability even in the smallest of areas and where access is compromised.
The cutting height can be adjusted via a three stage control lever (36” only) and the robust and versatile design with low profile makes it ideal for all areas and undergrowth.
A 48” and 58” deck have been introduced to the range for the Tiger Cat and Turf Tiger respectively.
The deck can also be left on for finer cutting, making it a versatile all year addition to the Scag grass cutting capabilities.

Versatile design and features for a quality finish
The STM range of Super Flail heads have been specifically designed for use with the Scag SWZ culminating in a versatile and robust pedestrian flail mower for all areas particularly grassland and rough with tall thick grass.
Wet or dry, rough or fine, the STM Super Flail range promises a perfect result whatever the conditions.Three models are available in either 30”, 36” or 48” cutting widths, each with a choice of fine cut single twisted or rough cut back to back flails (see table below). For banks and slopes of up to 45°, a twin wheel kit can be added with high grip AG tyres for extra traction and stability. The option of twin wheel grassland tyres is also available.With continued focus on health and safety within the industry, an optional anti-vibration kit can be fitted to help reduce hand-arm vibration and problems associated with long periods of mower work.

Reels Pedestrian units
The STM Snow Plough provides a useful optional winter extra for the Scag SWZpedestrian mower, extending its range of use yet again.
The STM snow blade is easy to install on the standard 16” or 20” chassis of the SWZ model. The blade is fully adjustable allowing for dispersal of snow to either side of the machine,and a single centre-skid provides simple adjustment of height, by the turn of alockable handle.Designed and built in the UK, the blade is made of high strength steel and fitted witha reversible rubber strip to ensure a long service life.

Snow Plough Pedestrian units
The Super Reel 30 is specially designed and built in the UK by STM to adapt the popular SCAG SWZ Pedestrian engine to a high performance fine cut mower.
The STM Super Reel (cylinder) models are available with either mechanical or hydraulic drive to the reel. Both feature a heavy duty bottom blade, and the pivoting head ensures a perfect cut even on undulating ground, making it ideal for amenity and verge cutting.
A robust steel hood surrounds a durable four or five bladed cylinder, providing a 30” cut for tackling the toughest of jobs.
For versatility and ease of transport, the Reel can be fitted with a fully detachable jockey wheel.
Low maintenance and ease of servicing, and a simple reverse switch for the clearance of blockages and back lapping facility means less down time, and more hours of uninterrupted work.

LPG ConversionLPG gas powered machines can help achieve significant savings in fuel costs, cut downtime and contribute to a greener environment. STM offer the option of LPG gas powered Scag mowers that can deliver performance levels comparable with petrol and diesel machines, handling slopes, verges and tight spaces smoothly - and with less noise than their diesel counterparts. Filling up your mower tank is as easy as filling up your car, with a simple hand pump that ensures it is both quick and safe. One tank should last all day, but a standard fuel gauge is fitted, so you should never suffer the inconvenience of running out of gas away from base. Conversions are carried out by a trained installer, and you can feel safe in the knowledge that regular support and aftercare is always available from STM.
Anti Vibration Kits have been developed for all our SCAG products to help reduce vibration levels by up to 20%, allowing for more extensive usage before the operator is subjected to damaging levels of vibration. The simple damper and weight system can even be retro fitted to older machines, making them safer for all your operators.
Hand Protectors can be fitted to all SWZ pedestrian models.
Rear Discharge ConversionTo deal with modern demands on professional machinery, the SCAG rear discharge deck reduces the risk of debris blow out while providing a high quality cut, and an even spread of grass.The heavy gauge fabrication reduces the risk of deck damage and allows close up cutting and therefore, reduced levels of follow up work.
Trac-grip Tyres & Twin Wheel Kit
For extra traction, Trac-grip tyres are available for use with the Scag range of machines, from the pedestrian SWZ and Pro-V to the heavy duty Turf Tiger.And for added grip and stability, the SWZ pedestrian range can be fitted with a twin wheel kit (available with either grassland or trac-grip tyres), ideal for slopes and hard to reach areas.
Inclinometers can be fitted to all Scag machinery to assist in monitoring safe working levels on banks. A visual reading for the operator will allow machines to be operated on inclines which are suitable and safe, thus reducing the risk of bank related accidents.
Lighting Kits are available to fit all zero-turn riders, with beacon, side lights, indicators and an audible warning system.

Operator TrainingSTM recognise the importance of operator and health and safety training within the industry, and actively support training days, very often in conjunction with our dealers. Invariably we will undertake the training at the customer’s premises or for specific requirements an appropriate location. For examplew, a two day course was organised with RT Machinery at STM’s premises. Over 60 employees from MITIE Landscape trained in the safe operation
and service of Scag pedestrians and ride-ons. It was the most successful way to bring together and train the volume of people involved, who came from areas all over the UK.
