Welcome
Thank you for being here for worship this Sunday! Our mission at First Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We are inspired by the words of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, who encouraged believers to “do all the good you can, in all the ways you can.”
This Sunday is World Communion Sunday. The Holy One is alive throughout the
world, and our altar is a representation of the many ways we are able to join in communion with Christ, through the
breaking of the bread. Each bread on the altar represents a different region of the world. The colorful cloth represents the variations of beauty found in all of God’s
creation. May we join together, with Christ, in this Holy meal.

Calling all able-bodied men, women and children…the youth need you to help us unload pumpkins for our pumpkin patch on October 15th at 12:30pm. Many hands make the load light and work time short! If you have a wheel-barrow, that would be helpful in moving pumpkins around. We will also need help during the day while the youth are in school to man the pumpkin patch. Please let Jennifer Hupko know if you can help with either of these projects. Sign-ups for the pumpkin patch will be out soon. [email protected] or 843-448-7164 ext. 216

Ron Carpenter has served FUMC faithfully as Church Administrator for 9 1/2 years. On December 16, 2016 he will retire from this position. Ron and his wife Jackie plan to visit their three sons, three daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren often and to be able to travel on a moment’s notice. Ron also
plans to give his golf game some attention and to help Jackie from time to time as she has need in her real estate endeavors. They plan to remain fully connected to the church through worship, Sunday school and special events. We wish Ron all the best as he begins this new chapter in his life and thank him for his years of service.
