We know lot about The State Aviation Museum of Ukraine (Zhulyany) (It is

the youngest and at the same time the largest historical museum of the country's

technicalestablished in 2003 crowning a noble date - 100 years of world aviation). But there also exists another place to see different aircraft in details and to

sit in their cockpits. It is well known as a training hangar at NAU. This is a mini air

station near the center of the city, where more than a dozen different aircraft,

helicopters, lots of equipment and other auxiliary equipment are settled. Most of

the equipment is prepared and efficient.

The hangar is the largest in Europe. The object was built on a special project

to reproduce a real airfield for training of highly qualified aviation specialists. The

unique design of the roof was applied during the construction of the hangar

(similar is only in the "Olympic" in Moscow.) Building started in 1973 and

finished in 1980. And also it took two years to bring the exhibits to the museum.

Previously prepared for transportation, they were taken from Zhulyany at night.

Transportation of such equipment is a large-scale event. Services of the state traffic

police, "Gorelectrotrans" and road transport companies were involved in this.

One of the walls is a huge metal, almost 60-meter, doors through which

    aircraft can completely enter.

Aviation equipment is included under the voltage during the tour. Visitors

can see how the screws rotate, landing of the gear. It is possible to get inside the

aircraft and helicopters, to sit at the helm.

Technique preparation allows you to see "inward" of the aircraft,

construction of the fuselage, wings and various aircraft systems.

Specialized classrooms equipped with the aircraft units, stands for the study

of the basic functional systems of aircraft, mounted with real structural elements of

systems are situated in the hangar.
