deserving individuals to funding impactful conservation, outreach and

FIRST INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND IN
MALAYSIA

• Sime Darby Property is involved in
environmental initiatives, such as providing
ample green spaces and landscaping in
our projects, organising community events
to raise environmental awareness, and
environmental enhancement through
planting of endangered, rare and
threatened tree species.
• One of the key environmental initiatives is
the “Waste to Wealth Carbon Footprint
Project” at Bandar Bukit Raja. It is aimed
at raising awareness on recycling culture
at home. 25 recycle collection points have
been installed within the township and
more than 14000 kilos of recyclable

• THE SIME DARBY PROPERTY
VOLUNTEERS PROGRAMME (SDPVP)
kicked off in June 2018 with the objective of
fostering teamwork and enhancing
employee engagement.
• Initiatives were designed to leverage and
match wherever possible, volunteers’ skills
and preferences with projects developed
based on feedback, interest, and
stakeholder needs. Volunteering efforts
range from assisting the community, to
efforts that promote care for the environment.
• Since its inception, 17 projects were
implemented with a total of 1815 volunteer
hours contributed by 357 volunteers.
Through SDPVP, more than 2000 people
have benefitted from the programme.

CAMPAIGN in collaboration with Yayasan
Sime Darby partnered Malaysian Mental
Health Association (MMHA) and Mental
Illness Awareness & Support Association
(MIASA) for a four (4) month campaign on
mental health awareness.
• THE GREAT MINDS CAMPAIGN aims to
focus on three (3) critical areas; raising
awareness, educating society on the early
identification of mental health issues and
engaging stakeholders on how to care for
their mental health through workshops,
forums, partnership engagements,
awareness programmes and sporting
activities.

THE GREAT MINDS CAMPAIGN comprises two
(2) components:
1. EDUCATION COMPONENT
Sime Darby Property and campaign partners, the
Mental Illness Awareness and Support
Association (MIASA) and Malaysian Mental
Health Association (MMHA) have organised a
series of workshops and forums on mental
health in schools, universities and corporate
organisations as follows:
• 10 workshops at 4 schools
• 2 circle time at 2 shelter homes
• 7 forums at 3 corporate offices and 4
universities
• 5 exhibitions by MMHA
• 8 exhibitions by MIASA
At the end of this campaign, all activities were
rolled out successfully and more than 700 people
participated in the activities.

THE GREAT MINDS CAMPAIGN comprises
two (2) components:
2. EVENT COMPONENT
The apex of the campaign was the Great Minds
Charity Run & Ride which took place on 12
October 2019 in Bandar Ainsdale, Negeri
Sembilan. The charity event was a platform for
fundraising, health awareness and education.
The event aims to promote an active lifestyle
through cycling which in turn improves one’s
health and contributes towards a better quality
of life. More than 400 people participated in the
event and 150 volunteers recruited throughout
the event.
Proceeds from the event were channeled to our
partners MMHA, MIASA in their efforts to
promote mental health care in the country as
well as the Shelter Home for Children in
Petaling Jaya and the Shelter for Women and

• In collaboration with Kloth Malaysia Sdn Bhd
(as the “Fabric Recycling Partner”) and Lifeline
Clothing Malaysia Sdn Bhd (as the “Fabric
Recycling Operator”), a few fabric bins have
been installed at the identified locations within
our business operations.
• This initiative is aimed at educating employees
to recycle unwanted fabrics and to prevent
them from ending up in landfills. To date, more
than 6000 kilos of unwanted fabrics have been
collected and the campaign has been rolled
out to selected sales galleries.
