The Sign of Jonah A Series of Special Services and Bible Study for Lent

Jonah … for Lent? Sounds fishy, but it’s a natural fit. When the Jews asked Jesus for a sign,

he said, “I will give you only the sign of Jonah.” After three days in the belly of the earth, Jesus

rose with news of God’s prodigal grace. This series of special services explores the meaning of

“The Sign Jonah” as we follow Jonah on his journey … and Jesus on his way to the cross.

Written by seminary professor Dr. Reed Lessing.

Easter Flowers Again, this year Mary will be ordering for you from May’s as a church (which gives us a little price break). Lilies will be wrapped in purple foil with a white ribbon and delivered to the church. Due to such a late Easter the growing season will be over for tulips, etc. so we will only be offering lilies this year.

The deadline for ordering is Friday, April 15. Easter Sunday is April 24. Lilies will be $16.00.

You will also have the option to make a contribution to the Endowment Fund. Please fill out the form and return it to the office.

Flower Facts

Saron has a standing order with May’s Florist (located inside Angell’s Food Center), each week. $20 is all it costs for two lovely bouquets to take home. Just be sure to mark your check “flowers” in the memo and drop it in the offering plate. Please do not take the black inserts out of the church. That is why the bouquets are placed in plastic cups so that you may easily take the bouquets home.

If someone has already chosen the special date that you would like it is fine to go ahead and share that date with them. However, YOU will need to purchase your own additional flowers.

Sponsoring flowers is a great way to remember or honor a special occasion and at the same time make a visual contribution to the worship service.
