Scripture Matthew 20:1-16 (NKJV) 1 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ So they went. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right you will receive. 8 “So when evening had come, the owner of the vineyard said to his steward, ‘Call the laborers and give them their wages, beginning with the last to the first.’ 9 And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they would receive more; and they likewise received each a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner, 12 saying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.’ 13 But he answered one of them and said, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what is yours and go your way. I wish to give to this last man the same as to you. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? The annual Fall Celebration sponsored by the Provincial Women's Board will be held at Friedberg Moravian Church Saturday September 8 from 9 to 12. The Coffee Hour will begin at 9:00 with programs beginning at 9:30. The Rev. Judy Knopf will review the Bible Study book by the Rt. Rev. Dr. Kay Ward, "Let's Shine a Little Light on Our Faith." The Rev. Fran Saylor will review the Mission Study Book: The Great Co-Commission. A Silent Auction to benefit the 13th Moravian Women's conference will also take place on this day! We are now accepting donations for this auction. We will also take bazaar type items such as small crafts and baked goods. Please contract Vicki Stanfield at 336-682-5827 or [email protected] to donate items. Auction items can be brought to Friedberg on Friday September 7 from 1 to 3 P.M. in the Family Life Center. Vicki Stanfield can also take items before this date. A delicious lunch will follow at 12 noon at a cost of $10 per person. Silent Auction winners will be announced at the lunch. CMC Bulletin Board WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP GENERAL MEETING – The General Meeting will be TODAY, after worship in the Fellowship Building. BIKING GROUP – The Biking group will meet for their next ride on Saturday, July 21 at 9 AM (meet at greenway behind Marketplace Mall). MISSION SOCIETY MEETING – The Mission Society will meet on Tuesday, July 17, at 7 PM in the Fellowship Building of Christ Moravian Church. SPECIAL CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE MEETING – The CE Committee will meet with the teachers of the children’s Sunday School classes, volunteers for Children’s Church and youth leaders on Sunday, July 22, after worship in the Fellowship Building. Lunch will be provided. ADVENT HOPEWELL MORAVIAN BAND – Please join us for a free concert filled with Moravian chorales and good old Military Marches. The event will be held at New Philadelphia Moravian Church at 4440 Country Club Rd, Winston Salem NC. July 22, 2018 at 7:00 PM. Donations will be accepted for the DAV (Disabled American Veteran’s). All proceeds raised will help Veterans of North Carolina. WOMEN’S FELLOWSHIP QUARTERLY CIRCLE #3 MEETING – This circle will be meeting on Monday, July 23, at 7 PM at the home of Ann Frye. Due to limited parking at Ann’s home, we will meet at the Fellowship Building at 6:45 PM and carpool to her home. TIME TO ORDER 2019 DAILY TEXTS – It’s time to pre-order your 2019 Daily Texts. Pre-order forms have been placed in the Resource Room or you may call the Church Office at 336-722-2007 to place your order. DEADLINE TO ORER DAILY TEXTS IS JULY 29TH. LOOSE CHANGE OFFERING – Our Leadership Board has designated every 5th Sunday for 2018 as a Sunday for church members to bring in their loose change or make a special offering to support ANTHONY’S PLOT. Please support this ministry by bringing in your loose change on July 29. FALL BAND CLASSES will begin September 4, 2018 at Home Moravian Church. Sponsored jointly with Salem Congregation, Beginning Band Classes as well as Second and Third Year classes will once again be offered under the leadership of Robah Ogburn and Connie Merritt. Each Tuesday night, the beginners’ class will meet at 6:30 PM for all ages 4th grade and up (we have had students starting in their 80’s). Second and Third Year players meet for class at 7:30 PM. The classes are held in the Rehearsal Room on the lower level of the building. If you do not know what instrument you want to learn the leaders will help you make that decision on first night.
