WHERE CAN YOU FIND PEACE?
Peace emanates from soul and is the sacred inner
environment in which the happiness unfolds.
Through meditation one can experience a stable,
silent inner peace that can be a permanently
soothing background for all harmonious or tri-
alsome activities demanded by life’s responsibili-
ties. Lasting happiness lies in maintaining this
evenly peaceful state of mind. Everything you do
should be done with peace. That is the best medi-
cine for your body, mind and soul. It the most
wonderful way to live.
There is a cause for stress. Calmness is the ideal
state in which we should receive all life experienc-
es. Nervousness is the opposite of calmness and
its prevalence today makes it very nearly a world
disease. The best cure of nervousness is the culti-
vation of calmness. One who is naturally calm
does not lose his sense of reason, justice, or hu-
mor under any circumstances.
Poise iss a beautiful quality. We should pattern
our life by a triangular guide. Calmness and sweet-
ness are the two sides, the base is happiness
whether one acts quickly or slowly, in solitude or
in the busy minds of men, his center should be
peaceful, poise. Christ is an example of that ideal.
Everywhere, in demonstrated peace. He passed
through conceivable test without losing his poise.
Live in the divine consciousness of your soul. We
are soul –eternal, immediate-made in God’s im-
age of immortal bliss. Our lives should continuous-
ly reflect that ever new self. I never let anyone
take away my inner happiness, and you too should
learn that art of intrepid soul living yjat can smile
away whatever trouble may come.
The true state of the self, the soul is bless, wis-
dom, love, peace. It is to be happy that no matter
what you are doing you enjoy it. Isn’t that much
better than to blunder through the world like a
restless demon, unable to find satisfaction in any
things.
Calmness is the breath of immortality.
Those who deeply meditate feel a wonderful inner

quiet calmness in one of the attributes of the
immortality within you. When you worry, there
is a static coming through our mind radio.
God song is the song of calmness. Nervous-
ness is the static, calmness is the voice of
God speaking to you trough the radio of the
soul.
Nervousness is the handmaiden of change
and death. When you are calm, even death
cannot frighten you, for you know you are
God.
Calmness is the living breath of God’s immor-
tality. The more you feel peace in meditation,
the more closer you are to God. He moves
nearer and nearer to you the deeper you en-
ter into meditation, the peace of meditation
is the language and embracing comfort of
God.
Learn to live in that eternal happiness and
peace which is God.
Make life an enjoyable experience of the
soul.
Practice eve minded calmness all the time.
Become a King, an absolute Monarch, of your
own mental realm of calmness. Let nothing
disturb your peaceful kingdom of calmness
night and day. Carry with you the joy of peace
of God which passeth all understanding.
This even mindedness when maintained be-
yond deep meditation, removes the boredom,
disappointments, and sorrow from every life,
making it instead a very interesting and en-
joyable experience of the soul.

let me buy you some cigarettes then!” said the Mason. “No, thanks!” said the tramp, “I’ve

Silence, A FRIEND OF A BUSY LIFE
If you are alone and direct your thought to your inner self, then you will find si-
lence around you.
It is like the soundless valley in the early morning sun full of greeneries.
It is like the ocean after the storm.
It is like with your friends in a conversation, wherein in a few moments there is
always stillness around you.
It is like in the desert after an evening bonfire.
Go deeply and you will start to hear the beatings of your heart and
nothingness will communicate to the Great One.
Your inner self will be feed with spiritual food. Then Peace will manifest within
you.
“Peace be unto you!”

Brigadier General Danilo Lim belongs to a rare breed of scholar
soldiers. His first assignment after graduating from West Point was in
Mindanao where he was wounded twice in combat in Sulu. His divi-
sion commander, Brig. Gen. Emilio Luga jr., once described him as the
bravest lieutenant he has ever met. As a seasoned scout ranger
officer, he was long involved in anti-insurgency, anti-terrorism and anti
secessionist operations. Respected in military circles for his idealism,
integrity, expertise and bravery, he remains unstained even by the
slightest hint of corruption. Columnist Julius Fortuna wrote, “He is
probably the most credible military officer today.”
In a recent newspaper article, Alejandro Lichauco described him “as
one of the military figures today that so powerfully represents the face
of integrity and valor expected of the Nation’s soldier.” He added that
“Danny Lim represents moral rectitude in the Armed Forces.”
The roots of newly promoted Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim can be traced to
Xiamen, China, formerly Amoy. His father married a girl from Bohol but
Danny, as he is called by both friends and detractors, was born and
raised in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya. He is the youngest of five brothers.
He finished elementary and high school in Solano with flying colors.
He was in his first year at UP when he took the entrance exams to the
Philippine Military Academy. He topped the exams.
While a plebe, he took the entrance exam to the US Military Academy
at West Point, one of the world’s premier military academies. He
topped the exams.
After graduation, he returned to the country, took the Scout Ranger
Course where he graduated not only No. 1 but also led his team in
registering the only encounter of the class during their test mission. He
opted to be assigned to Jolo after that. He commanded the forward
Recon Unit of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division in Sulu where his name
became a byword due to his combat exploits. He was wounded twice
in combat.
Then AFP chief Gen. Romeo Espino noticed this officer and promptly
directed GHQ to transfer then Lt. Lim to his alma mater, PMA, for
instructor duty. He stayed for a few years then packed his bags again
for the US to take up the Advanced Infantry Course at the Infantry
School in Fort Benning, Georgia. He not only topped the course but
was also awarded the Distinguished Allied Student Award for that
year. When he returned, he joined the First Scout Ranger Regiment as
chief of operations.
Moving on with his life, Lim took the Command and General Staff
course which he again topped. He ran off with seven of the eight
awards given by the school. Only the physical fitness award called the
“Tarzan Award” slipped through his fingers and was given to a much
younger officer.
He later commanded the 42nd Infantry Battalion where he again
made a name for himself for the various combat accomplishments of
his unit. He also endeared himself to the Bicolanos in Camarines Sur
where his battalion was based. He then became deputy commander
of the First Scout Ranger Regiment and later regiment commander.
President Benigno S. Aquino III appointed General Lim to serve as
Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence of the Bureau of Customs, one
of the most corrupt institutions in this country. With Danny's corrup-
tion-repelling character, inspiring professional work ethics, and very
strong leadership abilities, he was able to start the significant cleans-
ing & reformation of this notoriously corrupt Philippine agency.
