I adore the memories that we’ve made, the love that has been shared, and the laughter we’ve created throughout this journey. And I thank you for the amazing impact that you have made on my life. You’ve enriched me at the core of who I am. I’m a better person because of the way you’ve trusted me, you’ve stretched me, and you’ve encouraged me. I’m so grateful, still, that I have this amazing opportunity to be a part of a story built on unity, transformation, relationships, provision, and beauty. As we begin our fourth year here, our vision is coming to fruition. We are reaching more people than ever before. Our membership is at an all-time high. We have more home delivered meal clients than we ever have in the past. We are finding new ways to assist and reach people in need. As I write this (with weeks yet to go) our Tax Aide program assisted more people this year than the last two years combined. These are the things we’ve prayed for; ways to reach those in need. Those record numbers can’t be met without a powerful army of volunteers, and for each and every one of them, we are forever grateful. Reflecting back on these four years has brought me so much joy. I thank you for the way you’ve supported our vision of helping those in need. I thank you for your membership, for your donations, for your volunteerism, and for your support. Our growing vision takes a might and united team and I’m so grateful you’re apart of it! Happy Anniversary, MACC! Cecily Rose Director

Director’s Message Dear Members, Four beautiful years have passed since the day I had the honor of being hired for the position of Director at the Molalla Adult Community Center.

Special Outings and Events!

*All suggested donations are directed to transportation and administrative costs.

Friday, April 7th ———Smyrna Memory Café Bus Leaves Center at 11:00am Suggested Donation $4 Smyrna UCC’s Memory Café helps middle-aged and older adults learn ways to keep their brains healthy, and to learn about resources available to help them live independently, and/or care for loved ones with cognitive impairment. There is no cost, however free-will donations are accepted for lunch. Sign up begins Tuesday, March 28th, at 9am.

*Please note that our recreational transportation program, which includes all outings, is specifically purposed for our Bus/Vans. While we understand that some people want to partake in our trips independently, in their own vehicles, we are unable to accommodate these requests into our planning. We encourage you to join us on the bus and enjoy the entire and complete Center Outing experience!

Wednesday, April 12th ———Shari’s & Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm Bus Leaves Center at 10:30am Suggested Donation $5 Tulip Festival Admission Cost Paid to the Center: $2. Always a tasty favorite, join us for lunch at Shari’s! The Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival is a beautiful sight to see with many fun activities! You can walk through the tulip fields, enjoy the gardens, have fun with the photo props, or shop their market! You don’t want to miss the scenery! Sign up begins Friday, April 7th, at 9am.

Tuesday, April 4th ———Los Dorados & Fred Meyer (Senior Tuesday!) Bus Leaves Center at 10:30am Suggested Donation $4 Join us for a NEW Tuesday Outing! We will be having delicious Mexican food at Los Dorados in Canby, and then pop on over to take advantage of the extra 10% discount for seniors at Fred Meyer! Sign up begins Tuesday, March 28th, at 9am.

Wednesday, April 19th ———The Home Place Evening Outing Bus Leaves Center at 4pm Suggested Donation $5 Craving pizza? Maybe a nice steak? How about a loaded salad? Home Place has that and so much more! Join us for dinner, you won’t be disappointed! Sign up begins Friday, April 14th, at 9am.

Wednesday, April 26th ———Gerry Frank’s Konditorei & Shopping at Walmart Bus Leaves Center at 10:30am Suggested Donation $7 Gerry Frank’s Konditorei, where you can have your cake and eat it here, too! Famous for their amazing desserts, they have a pretty extensive lunch menu including salads, sandwiches, panini’s and meatloaf! Don’t forget a slice of cake! Sign up begins Friday, April 21st, at 9am.

Join us Friday, April 14th for our Easter celebration, including a peep fight!

Friday, April 21st —- BINGO will be held in the Library this day to allow Staff to set up for the Bazaar. Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you, from Dennis Ray: First of all, I’d like to thank all of you for the cards and kind comments upon my retirement from bus driving for MACC. You’ve all, in your own way, made a lasting im-pression upon my life. About six years ago, when I began driving, I had no idea how much this job and the folks I served would mean to me. I had just spent the previous 40+ years working in sawmill production, a job far different from serving our senior population. I discovered that I really do enjoy being around people. I had sort of prided myself as being pretty much a loner. Not anymore! You taught me all about compassion and caring for the vulnerable. Thank you for being such great teachers. I recall the uncertain times when the City, in the midst of a financial crisis, came close to closing the doors of the Adult Center. Thanks to a young Pastor, who, with a group of fellow Pastors, said “that’s not going to happen!”. We’re still going strong. We’re now a vibrant, welcoming, busy Adult Center! The staff is visible, out and about every day. They know your name and really care about you. It was such an honor to be a small part of that transition. In the end, I think, it was the cumulative affect of all the losses that took me down. So many good people in a short time passed. I’m all too aware of our mortality, and that those we serve are approaching the end of their time here on earth. It just doesn’t get any easier. So, thank all of you for being a big part of my journey. I’m a much better person now because of you. A special thanks to the super folks I got to work with. It was, and continues to be, a very special team. I really enjoyed spending time with you. Your unconditional love and boundless compassion was and is wonderful to witness. I’ll be seeing you, Dennis.

within its squares. Each number can only appear once in a row,
