“Where Every Child Counts”

The Scoop

Mabank Junior High School

What’s Up?

Stay Involved

Your child may act like he/she wishes

you would disappear sometimes. But

when it comes to school success,

junior high kids still need their

parents/guardians around. In fact,

even now more than ever!

Why? When parents get involved in learning, student

achievement soars. Middle graders score higher on

assessments, turn in better work/projects, and partici-

pate more in class if they know their guardians care.

When? You can be involved in your child's learning at any

time of the day. Talk about homework or what

happened at school that day while you're making dinner.

Watch a documentary together at night. Visit a museum

on the weekend. You’ll show your child that you think

learning is important!

Where? Teachers will welcome your commitment,

whether you help in the classroom, volunteer at evening

events, or simply support your child at home. Please do

not hesitate to call or email your

child’s teacher(s) or any MJH staff

member to see what you can do

in or outside of school to help!

Congratulations to MJH’s 2017 Teacher of

the Year, Tammy Zylman. Mrs. Zylman’s

passion for teaching science is unbelievable

and truly one of a kind. That same desire she

instills in her students so they’re able to

become thinkers and problem solvers for not

only at the present time but beyond. The

students thank you for making science fun

and memorable. We love watching the

students intermingle with you and with your

interactive, hands-on science lessons and

labs. It’s learning that will stick with them a

lifetime. Thank you, Tammy Zylman, for

impacting the lives of your students!! And for

sharing your “Bigger

Seventh Grade came in 2nd. MJH students

received many medals. They were all very
