NOVEMBER 2ND MEETING:
President Cary opened the meeting and then asked us to silence our cell phones. Our song of
the day was, “God Bless America.” Anne Frank offered today’s invocation.

John Leonard was a guest of Dick Booth.
Carol Pinder, who will soon be inducted into the Club.
COMMUNITY IN CELEBRATION (a.k.a. HAPPY DOLLARS:
Steve Paccione said that the Lower Gwynedd Township Manager (47) had a stroke last
week. While in the hospital they discovered a malfunction of his heart which was fixed
without surgery. He is now home recuperating.
Linda Kennedy said that next year’s exchange student’s had their second orientation
session and all went well.
Steve Bass said that the Wordsworth Interact tree planting went well yesterday. See
photo at the top of today’s newsletter. They planted at Cross Way Preserve at Cathcart
and Morris Rds. While there the Interactors got to see the trees that were planted in
2002 and 2009.
Bob King said that he missed last week’s meeting which was the actual 50th birthday of
Greg Marinucci. Bob said that he was actually going to sing a solo “Happy Birthday” to
Greg.
Dick Target said that on November 5th, Lower Gwynedd Township will celebrate their
3rd Annual Veterans Day celebration at the Township Park at Pennlyn Pike and
Bethlehem Pike between 11:00 A.M. to noon. Food will be available after the event.
Dick then said that he and Cathy have been married for 41 years.
NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS:
Ambler Head Start. Diane Schueler will be purchasing books for each of the 18 students for their home library. We are also collecting gently used or new ‘preschool’ children’s books We sang “Happy Birthday” to Joan Coleman and Donna Buckley. Somehow Greg Marinucci got to be recognized again. Upper Dublin & Wissahickon Valley Public Libraries present the 3rd annual 2016 “Let’s Discuss it!” program: An Evening with bestselling author Alice Hoffman Thursday,
November 3, 7:30 P.M. at Ambler Theater 108 E Butler Avenue, Ambler, PA. It is in collaboration with the Towne Book Center & Café and the Ambler Theater. Flyer is attached to newsletter.
November 19 from 10 to noon, the Upper Dublin Lutheran Church “End Hunger “food drive to provide premeasured and package meals. In a period of two hours, we expect that over 30,000 meals will prepared. The November 30th meeting will be held in the William Penn Tavern. Enter via front entrance. There will be two meetings in the banquet rooms. Thursday, December 1st we will have our second “Happy Hour “at the Lucky Well on
Thursday December 1, 2016 5:30 PM. Please invite friends and family to join us!

Our speaker today was Eileen Cella, Managing Director of the Act II Playhouse in beautiful
downtown Ambler. Eileen explained the history and future of the playhouse in a well-
organized PowerPoint presentation. Eileen conclude her presentation by singing, “Until There
Was You.” She will be a welcome voice in the RCA, joining Leigh DeTato.

tee. Next week’s jackpot will begin over $1,205.50.
