We are pleased to announce that on 8 September, 2015, we will hold a one-hour symposium: The road to smarter WWTP – intelligent data management and modelling.
It is arranged in conjunction with the 12th IWA Specialised Conference on Design, Operation and Economics of Large Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) to take place in Prague, Czech Republic on 6-9 September, 2015.
The symposium delves into best practices on design and operation of WWTP and it will specifically look at intelligent data management and modelling. The symposium will include practical case studies presented by members of DHI’s WEST Development Centres as well as by our DHI experts.
The symposium will provide a lively forum for learning and debate. It will benefit a large cross-section of waste water treatment plant managers and staff.
We hope that you will join us in this opportunity for exchanging ideas, sharing knowledge, extending technical skills, and meeting professional colleagues.

SYMPOSIUM PRESENTERS
Enrico Remigi Environmental Engineer, DHI
Dr Enrico Remigi is responsible for model implementation and technical support in wastewater modelling. He is a member of the WEST development team and has extensive international experience in WEST modelling projects and training.
Marcus Richter Business Area Manager, Cities, DHI
Marcus Richter is an engineer with a strong focus on water/wastewater industry solutions to empower our clients to plan, manage and operate urban infrastructure systems based on MIKE Powered by DHI software products.
LUNCHTIME SYMPOSIUM - IWA 2015
POST-CONFERENCE WEBINAR
Are you interested in learning more about
application of modelling in wastewater
treatment plants (WWTPs)? Attend our free
one-hour webinar offered in three different
languages: English, German, and Czech.
The webinar gives you an introduction to the
WEST modelling simulator and is designed to
help you identify what WEST can do to match
your requirements.
WWTP modelling is essential for scientists and practitioners, who work with exploring
design alternatives, optimising plant operations (for example to improve performance
and reduce cost), and implementing control strategies.
WWTP modelling is also an ideal learning tool that may be used (for example by
plant operators) to investigate the complex process dynamics and interactions that
characterise a modern WWTP.
TARGET GROUP AND PREREQUISITES
professionals working at all levels of WWTP engineering (such as design,
operation, process optimisation and management)
academics involved in wastewater engineering (at undergraduate and
postgraduate level)
decision and policy makers.
It is an advantage, but not a condition, that you are familiar with the activated sludge
modelling (ASM) concept and design/operation of WWTP.

ABOUT WEST
WEST is the tool of choice for dynamic modelling and simulation of wastewater treatment plants and other types of water quality related systems. It is designed for operators, engineers and researchers interested in studying physical, biological or chemical processes in WWTPs, sewer systems and rivers.

THE ACADEMY BY DHI
THE ACADEMY offers a palette of courses and capacity building packages designed to fit your needs and challenges. We offer standard and/or tailored training.
MIKE Powered by DHI courses focus on practical skills, hands-on exercises and teaching you how to get the most out of your software. These courses also enable you to understand the power of the MIKE tools for building decision support systems.
Thematic courses allow you to apply concepts, applications and decision support principles to the entire business process within current areas: aquaculture and agriculture, energy, climate change, flooding, coast and marine, surface and groundwater, urban water, industry, environment and ecosystems, product safety and environmental risk, etc.
Our trainers are experienced professionals, many of whom are recognised international experts in their fields. The use of highly skilled trainers guarantees the quality of THE ACADEMY courses.
