The river Danube is the 2nd largest
river in Europe.
For hundreds of years it has been important route for trade and
travel in central and southeastern Europe.
• The castles and forts were once a protected empires and some draw tourists
• The Danube starts in Germany's mountains. • It flows 1,770 miles to the Black Sea.
• Sailors from Ancient Greece began to exploring this river as early as 600 bc .
• This river later became northern boundary for the Roman Empire.
It flows through 10 countries.Thirty percent of this river is in
Hungry.It provides drinking water for 10
million people.
• More than 83 million people depend on its sustenance.
• More than 700 dams have been built on its tributaries.
• The Danube, on average, discards is 6600 cubic meters of water per second.
