Etching, sand blasting and EDM have successfully main-tained as a manufacturing method for surface treat-ment for decades. Tens of thousands of moulds for in-jection, foaming, die casting and thermoforming were in-dividually grained with a qua-lity that was sufficient so far.Why should someone ever challenge such successful technologies? In addition to technical properties, the sur-face character of a product represent the quality defining feature for end-users. At it, design and haptic play an increasingly important role. These properties are significant affected by surface textures and structures, which have been inserted in moulds up to now with etching, sand blasting and eroding proces-ses. Today‘s answer to the question, how product designer can delight end-consumers, is the innovative production process of laser texturing (also called laser graining). Therewith surface graining or geometries can be in-sert in moulds for injection, foaming, die casting and thermoforming, being without equal. Whether carbon or brush-design, complex geometric or organic-looking surfaces can be pre-visualized by means of rendering in the mould or on the part and can be coordinated con-cerning the depth, the structure and the delimitation of the graining. Thereby we let our customers take actively part in the quality-determining key processes before st-arting the graining process.

Due to an all-digital design, development and produc-tion process, a 100% process reliability is warranted, so that absolutely repeatable graining can be realized with the accuracy of 1 micron. Furthermore constructive steps for acid graining and production-related blank borders can be substituted.

By use of 5-axis laser systems (partly with autochan-ger) fascinating, three-dimensional surface structures can be generated. Except for the demolding there insist no longer limits in design at it. By means of specialized mapping-processes used by the movie-industry, non-distortion graining can be realized.

LASER TEXTURING The innovative and economical answer to the questions, how plain surfaces can be changed into living and three-dimensional objects.

The quality of the repair of a damaged grai-ning, with the aim that the damaged area is no longer visible, starts with the professional laser welding. Therefor you have to take care of an identical hardness, whether it is steel, nickel or aluminum. With more than 20 welding-machi-nes we have large capacity for short-dated re-pairs. Even on-site.

Our team for the repair of graining and tools consists of young and dynamic as well as deca-des-long experienced staff, who repair up to 15 moulds for injection, foaming, die casting and thermoforming a day.

As an integrated service supplier, you do not only get the graining but also the repair of damaged areas in the graining. Regardless of whether etched, sandblasted, eroded or lasered - a repair is always possible at short term at our company or locally at our cus-tomers in Europe. Here you will get all the necessary services (laser welding, milling, sanding, spotting, polishing, repair of grai-ning, gloss level adjustment, etc.). We also offer you an emergency and waiting service as well as comprehensive advice.
