Change! You’ve heard all the adages about change. “Change is hard.” “Change is good.”

Well 2012 was certainly a year of change at the REALTOR® Foundation.

In 2012 we said goodbye to Molly Hahn and hello to Kristi Howard as the REALTOR® Foundation Manager. Molly led us far during her five-year tenure with the Foundation. Kristi has already contributed much during her first months with the organization and will continue to help the Board and volunteers expand the REALTOR® Foundation’s impact in Central Indiana.

The Foundation has benefited greatly from a growing trend among brokerages within MIBOR—transactional giving. The transactional giving program allows agents at participating companies to make a contribution to the REALTOR® Foundation directly from their closings. Soon we will be recognizing the first recipients of the Don “Pooch” Hunter Transactional Giving Award to the real estate office with the Highest Participation and the

real estate office with the Highest Donation Total.

2012 was also a record year for the REALTOR® Foundation’s fundraising efforts! The annual campaign reached its highest level of giving ever bringing in 122 percent of goal! Many thanks to the numerous volunteers, the staff, and the Board of Directors who all worked together to make 2012 a success.

But 2013 is now upon us and I’m confident 2012 becomes our new base from which to grow.

Thank you to everyone who participated in REALTOR® Foundation Awareness Week by donating, volunteering and attending the Feed the Fight celebration! Awareness Week was a great celebration of YOU and all that you do for the Foundation. We are so grateful for your involvement and your commitment to helping link hope to the homeless.

In January, more than 500 members and guests celebrated a new year of opportunities and honored local real estate professionals who made a positive impact on central Indiana in 2011. During the annual event, over $37,500 was raised to support The REALTOR® Foundation. It was the kickoff to MIBOR’s Centennial year the culmination of the Building a Living Legacy project!

19th Annual Golf OutingOn July 19, The REALTOR® Foundation raised over $32,000 during our 19th Annual Golf Outing. The funds generated by the event will help in our efforts to support to central Indiana nonprofits that serve Hoosiers in need of transitional housing and related services.
