Dear Pavo Bapst Church Family and Friends:
Some me ago, I discovered an adversement for church signs which presented a model that could be changed by using plasc leers.
One parcular example of that model caught my eye. A parcular sign at an actual church had this saying: The Pastor Told Me to ChangeThis Sign, So I Did!
I chuckled as I imagined the person in charge of the sign at that church. I could see him, or her, standing in front of the sign-leer stor-
age unit, trying to gure out some catchy, pithy spiritual saying. Knowing that being the keeper of the sign was an ongoing ministry, he
knew that his well was dry. His words were gone. His soul was empty.
Such is the spiritual state of many believers. Of course, that is the connual state of the unsaved for they have no hope without Christ.
But for the Believer, how sad that many a Chrisan has grown cold, dry, and seemingly hopeless. Remember, though, that Gods Word is
full of examples of His followers who became discouraged, yet God lied them up as they trusted Him. Abraham feared along his journey.
Moses became discouraged at the lack of faith of the Israelites. Job became depressed. Elijah despaired of his life. Jonah was angry. Jer-
emiah felt isolated. Even Christs disciples doubted and became fearful.
How wonderful that our Lord sent Jesus Christ as our Saviour to give us a promised Hope! We celebrate in December, His entrance into
this world. In January, we celebrate our New Beginning, our new spirit of salvaon. In February, we celebrate the Love of God and the
love we share as believers. God loves us and has provided Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.
Be encouraged that even though our soul bay be dry some me, our Lord will li us up. As we read His Word on a daily basis, study with
other Believers in Bible Study, and Worship with other Believers, we get to know Him beer and become more like Him. Remember that
you and I are on the winning side. Eternity with Him is a Promise!
In the Matchless Name of Jesus,
