Transcript of THE PRO US LU OF HUNTSVILLE THURSDAY, January 18, …
Happy New Year with my best wishes for health, happiness and prosperity throughout 2018 for all of our members, their families & friends. I want to thank the Management Team and the many volunteers who played, and will continue to play a major role in keeping our Club vibrant. Quite a high standard for 2018!
In particular I would like to thank Barb Munro for being such an excellent, hard working mentor, Lynne Newell for her able assistance in the transition , and other past Presidents such as Bob Mallette and Patrick Flanagan who continue to assist in many ways. It is my goal to build on 2017's success, working with our team and our many committees to provide exciting activities that will delight, thrill and please you . . . offering memorable moments. I will look to you for input and feedback to help guide these efforts such as new adventures and accomplishments. Let's make 2018 another great year, nurturing new and old friendships.

Muskoka River Watershed from 10,000 BC to 1900
Learn about quaternary geology changes after the
last ice age, archaeological evidence of Indigenous
occupation in the past 5,000 years and the sudden
onset of development between 1850 and 1900. The
Muskoka Watershed will be set within the broader
context of the Algonquin Dome which is drained by 6
other major drainage systems. (Clockwise from the
Muskoka River they are: Magnetawan River, South
River, Amable du Fond River, Petawawa River,
Bonnechere River, Madawaska River). The
headwaters of all 7 of these river systems are
within modern Algonquin Park.
From retirement in 1997 as an
educator, Bill became licenced
in archaeology in 2001 and
practiced until recently. He
collaborated with a previous
speaker Craig MacDonald in
producing maps with
indigenous names through
Ontario.
Look for a fascinating
presentation on Jan 18th!
