AB’s Differentiation – How the Field can be Engaged
• We are the ONLY Carrier in the industry with this type of team and this number of solutions
• We will have dedicated Regional and VPNA TSCs
• Know your TSC – get them involved in sales calls March through August
• Discuss enrollment technology flexibility and solutions – confirm ACTIVE Participation
• Engage TSCs early to determine the correct solution
• Promote Evidence Of Insurability online
• Electronic Certificates - How We Do Business
• Demonstrate MyBenefits portal for Employees
• Understand and follow the Pre-Sale / Implementation Processes

How It WORKS!! 1. Enrollment Firm / Broker work with AB Sales Associate to determine what products and
plan designs are needed for the account (6 weeks before enrollment begins)
2. Employer agrees to these plan designs by signing the Employer Acceptance agreement (4040 form) (6 weeks before enrollment begins)
3. AB Enrollment solutions receives the 4040 with a request to submit an Implementation Package to the platform vendor (no rates or other data gets to the platform vendor any other way) (at least 5 weeks before enrollment begins)
4. A review call to make sure that there is clarity around the Implementation Package BEFORE case configuration takes place – TSCs will be validating “working conditions” (4 weeks before enrollment begins)
5. The Implementation Package contains file feed formats that would be discussed, understood and agreed upon (covered in #4)
Proprietary and Confidential
How It WORKS!! 6. A Quality Assurance testing date for the system is agreed upon PRIOR to use of the
system for enrollment (1 – 2 weeks before enrollment begins)
7. AB reviews the case configuration (QA) and insures that all rates and state regulations for the products are followed … signs off on the case (covered in #6)
8. Enrollment begins
9. During enrollment phase we receive test files based on the formats provided in step 5. We test those files for format and data type accuracy
10. Post enrollment – AB receives the data files within 5 – 7 business days to process E-certificates
Proprietary and Confidential
Common Failure Points in the Process 1. No 4040 – the 4040 changes and we don’t know it
2. Billing call and frequency to gain clarity
3. Agent licensing and appointing process
4. No system review – leads to business that takes months to get processed
5. Agent# / splits prior to processing data
