Need Prayer? Call us at 530-620-2717 Dear Partners, November 9, 2011 The Power of Prayer As Christians we are instructed to pray. We are instructed to pray without ceasing. Unfortunately, very few Christians know how to pray victoriously as opposed to praying in defeat. Perhaps the most important Scripture given to us regarding prayer comes from Isaiah 54:17, No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the LORD. There are three key points you should keep in mind as a Christian in your daily prayer life: 1. Pray with authority 2. Pray with confidence in His promise 3. Do not allow any thoughts to condemn What does it mean to pray with authority? It means having boldness when you approach the throne of God based on the Word of God. Christians do not have victory or confidence in their prayers and therefore do not see results. When we pray we are actually fighting (in the spirit) with Satan and the power of evil! We cannot fight against Satan without the authority and confidence that is only found in the Word of God. By praying WITH Scripture and telling Satan “it is written”, we are no longer fighting with our words; we are fighting back with God’s Word! The third point in this month’s lesson is directly linked to the first two. If we do not have the proper weapon (the Word) or the confidence to pray and fight, we allow Satan to condemn us. Romans 8:1 says, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. When our prayers are backed up by the Word, the enemy has no legal rights to condemn (judge) us or torment our mind. How many times have you been defeated because of the condemnation that comes over you? We have been given the power to fight against this! And you do not have to live under that torment any longer. Isaiah 54 says that it is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. The dictionary defines heritage as, “something that comes or belongs to one by reason of birth.” We have inherited this right because we are sons and daughters of the Most High God! The promise was given to us by God through Isaiah 700 years before Christ and fulfilled by Jesus in Luke 10:19 and Luke 9:1. When Jesus called his twelve disciples together He, “gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.” It is so important to know the Word of God. It is the only guaranteed way to fight and WIN against the powers of evil. “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).” What are some strongholds that are holding you back from being who God wants you to be? The confident, authoritative prayer of a believer breaks the stronghold of fear, worry, doubt, unbelief, anger, anxiety etc. It has the power to break the barriers of hell itself and make you whole again! God’s plan for your life is mighty! But God cannot do the work for us if we are not willing to take authority and take a stand against Satan.

He WILL back us up with His Word once we have put it to use. Prayer is the backbone of JMM and it always has been. We have experienced miracles through victorious prayer and without it we would not be where we are today. We need YOUR confident, victorious prayers this month and next more than ever. We are just weeks away from annual Christmas project when our team will fly overseas once again for the children of Romania. Thank you to those of you who have responded to our plea! We are still in need of funds for travel expenses and believe that God will provide the remaining finances. This is a big project but with God all things are possible! Because of the overwhelming response from our partners in the last couple months, we have been able to accomplish so much for this project already. Aside from the supplies, kids’ cups, candy, teddy bears and hats that were shipped from here several months ago, we have also purchased 2 tons of potatoes and 2 tons of corn flour. We are still working on purchasing ½ ton of sugar, pasta and sweets for the kids. The more money that comes in, the more supplies we will be able to purchase. We have just confirmed all of the purchased items with our overseas team and Pastor and they are ready for distribution in December. As we approach the holidays, remember how much you can impact the life of a child who may not even have food on the table this Christmas. No gift is too small or too large. Do the best you can with what God is putting on your heart to give. As we mentioned in the last newsletter, we not only deliver Christmas packages, we are also taking the Gospel of Jesus with us! Proverbs 19:17 says, “He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given.” We encourage you to continue to believe in the power of the Word of God and call for prayer. If you are going through a valley or situation in your life that you cannot face alone, we are here to pray with you. We pray that the tools we have given you this month will help you fight the fiery darts of Satan and have victory! This is our inheritance! In Christ , John & Alexandra Militaru
