More Than A Timer• The Pomodoro is distinctive...
• but don't be fooled...
• just using a tomato shaped timer isn't enough.
• The technique is prescriptive.

• A pencil (but a pen will do)
• Paper
• To Do sheet
• Activity Inventory sheet
• Records sheet
Start The Day• by reviewing the backlog.
• From the Activity Inventory...
• prioritise
• and enter on daily To Do sheet.
• Add Unplanned & Urgent Activities
Focus In The Timebox• Protect flow and focus.
• If interrupted during a pomodoro
• record
• negotiate
• ignore
• or abandon the timebox.
And Finally Record• Each day...
• transfer daily notes to Records sheet.
• For continuous personal improvement
• and improved estimation.
Breaking The Backlog• Aggregate small tasks
• Decompose large tasks into 5-7 pomodoro size
Sustainable Progress• "Once a pomodoro begins, it has to ring"
• Establish the work-rest rhythm
• After a pomodoro, rest for 3-5 minutes
• After a set of 4, rest for 15-30 minutes
Putting It All Together1 . Select tasks for the day
2 . Focus for 25 minutes; break for 5 minutes
3 . Repeat 4 times; take a longer break
4 . Repeat
5 . Review, reflect and record day
