We looked very funny in our moustaches and we managed to raise $94.00 for the Movember cause. Well done everyone. But the most exciting event of the day was the mo shaving! Briana and Ella S. were the first to be drawn out to help remove Gary’s mo and eventually everyone who went in the draw had a turn. What a great sport you are Gary and congratulations on the mo you grew this year! Swim School Swimming school is going really well this year and the weather is making the time in the pool even more enjoyable. The students are really well organised and prepared for the activity. There has been nothing lost, which has been our skill to practise during swimming, “being responsible for my belongings” Great effort everyone! Christmas Card Fundraiser The Christmas card fundraiser has been a HUGE success and didn’t they look fantastic! This is an activity we will continue to do in the future as it is a wonderful way to use our students artwork. There are mixed packs available at school ready to go or you can order more individual card packs. Thanks everyone for your support, especially the teachers who came up with the idea. We raised $580.00. Awards Assembly Don’t forget the awards assembly on Friday at 21.5pm. We will be presenting the platinum movie rewards at this assembly. There will also be lots of other awards being presented eg swimming along with the usual assembly acknowledgements. The SRC will host this assembly.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL Movember came to a very exciting end for us at The Pocket.

New Students This week we are welcoming another family returning to our school. Billi-Claire and Maddison will be joining Year 2 and Kinder this week. Welcome back girls! ALL LIBRARY BOOKS ARE DUE BACK THIS WEEK If you receive an overdue notice but know you have returned the books, we will need to search the shelves as the books may not have been returned correctly and been put back on the shelf. Don’t panic! We just need to find them. Thank You Afternoon Tea We will be holding an afternoon tea for all parents and helpers this Wednesday at 2.00pm. If you are coming along please RSVP by tomorrow. The raffle is still rolling along and we have some exciting prizes along with the Christmas hamper items. If your family still hasn’t donated “some item to use on Christmas day” please do so asap as the P&C will need to organise the prizes very soon. There are two big events coming up next week. Our dinner and presentation night on Wednesday 12th and a whole school excursion on Friday 14th. There are two notes accompanying this newsletter with all the information and permission slips. Please complete and return as soon as possible. I am asking for all students to travel on the bus for the excursion. The school is paying for the bus and lunch and we are asking for everyone to pay for the movie and bowling. The cinemas are throwing in the 3D glasses. Parents are most welcome to join us for the movie, lunch and bowling but will need to pay separately for each event. If you have any concerns please contact me. With only two and a half weeks to the end of term, lets have a calm and enjoyable time to wind up the year. Get lots of sleep, drink plenty of water, be kind and have a smile for everyone!
