The playground and the beach claimed one of our days in St. Pete. Our kids favorite playground in St. Pete is pretty great, and I have not seen many beaches that can beat what St. Pete has to offer. The kids all had a great time, as did the grownups...

Nate and Abi playing hard. And I love the way the sun is hitting directly behind Nate’s ear as he comes down the slide. Looks funny in a strange kind of way!

Grandma helping Anna across the monkey bars.

Elizabeth and Anna

Nate found a squirrel... and had to check to make sure dad saw it too.

You can take the boy out of Asia, but you can’t take the Asian squat out of the boy.

Finally, Elizabeth agreed to a ‘friendly’ race, which was just for fun...

After everyone cooled off and the youngest kids had a nap, we headed off to dinner. Where you ask?Yes, Chick-fil-a.

After dinner we loaded everyone back up and drove across the street to the beach. I love St. Pete beach. Such sweet memories there and so many more to make!

Anna stopped on the way to pick flowers... everyone else was super eager to get in the water.

They got right to work... digging and stuff. Or just sitting for a bit.

Nate discovered an abandoned sand castle. Smart guy. And Grandma loves to dig in the sand with the kids!

After a week at the beach house, Nate has decided he has NO fear of the water. He just started walking in by himself. A little fear is okay, in my opinion...

What a life...

When Nate wasn’t scaring me by walking into the ocean, he was playing ball with Aunt Katie. A shovel makes a great bat don’t you think?

Once we convinced Nate he couldn’t go in very far, his new game was jumping over the waves. Except he didn’t just jump. He made a really cool/funny grunting noise with each jump. They he would put his fist out like he was attacking the waves. He is not just Nate. He is ‘superhero Nate’.

Aww - Grandpa!!

Apparently Anna likes seaweed any way she can get it...

I love the look of joy on Abi’s face... so fun!!

I love sunsets.

Grandma & Grandpa sat watching the sun go down with the grandkids. You might notice there is an extra child... you see, a young girl whose family was occupying the plot of sand near ours, started playing with the kids. And she didn’t realize that we were trying to take a picture of the grandparents with their grandkids... and really, how do you tell a 5 year old girl, “please go away we don’t want you in our picture”. You don’t. Instead you try to move so she is covered by grandma’s shoulder and it isn’t so obvious.

The sun has set... time to go.Until next time dear St. Pete beach...
