The Placement Committee of IIM Shillong takesimmense pride in announcing the successful completionof summer placement season for the PGP batch of 2016-18. Sales & Marketing emerged as the most sought-after domain with 36% of the participants optingfor it. The domain witnessed an increase in thenumber of offers in FMCG and Healthcare &Pharmaceutical sectors. Regular recruiters suchas Dabur, Perfetti Van Melle, GSKPharmaceuticals, Tata Steel, Titan, Tata Motors,Hero Motocorp, Berger Paints, Medica andothers continued to show faith in the caliber ofthe participants and recruited in large numbers.IIM Shillong also hosted an array of newrecruiters in the domain such as ITC, Beiersdorf(Nivea), Kohler, VMware, Piramal Enterprises andAnand Group, among others. ITC, Tata Steel andTata Motors made the highest number of offersin this domain.
Consulting
Following the yearly trend, Consultingwitnessed a steady rise with 17% of the batchopting to intern in this domain. Various rolesoffered in the domain included Strategy andOperations, Product Development, ITConsulting and Business Consulting. Deloitte, afirst time recruiter for Summer Placements,acknowledged the talent pool at theinstitute by providing the highest number ofoffers for the coveted Strategy & Operationsprofile . Companies such as CognizantBusiness Consulting and Stellium Consultingcontinued to place their trust in the candidatesand made multiple offers.

IIM Shillong maintained its foothold in theFinance domain with 15% of the batch baggingoffers in the same. Profiles such as InvestmentBanking, Equity Research, Risk Management,Corporate Finance, Banking & Finance, Mergers& Acquisitions, Retail Banking and others wereoffered by renowned organizations from differentindustries. Our regular recruiters such as HSBC,Fidelity Management Research and ICICI Bank,among others, recruited in large numbers. Thedomain also witnessed participation fromsignificant number of new recruiters such as YesBank, Beiersdorf (Nivea), Aviva Life Insurance,Cummins India, Singhi Advisors, Halma Indiaand Metlife, to name a few. HSBC made thehighest number of offers in this domain.
