As many know in September 2018 the members group was tasked with collectingdonations to feed and care for the community cats here in Lake Como. This is toreport the status of the Community Cat Program.

Since the beginning, some $1842.38 has been collected and some $1685.35 spent.A portion of the funds collected came from the donated cat quilts that were raffled offeach fall. Since the beginning of this year the donations have dropped off with thelast donation coming was a total of $5.40.

The purpose of this report it to thank all for their donations and participation in the raffles. It is alsonecessary that donations continue to come in. We still have the cats to feed. I am grateful to the threevolunteers who are responsibly feeding the cats. These volunteers give a lot of time and their personalresources to the program.

At this time we have funds for another months food. We desperately need more funds to be given.

Hello Como Family,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for taking this pandemicseriously and for complying with the many restrictions placed upon us.I am fully aware that it is difficult to temporarily give up the activities we enjoy and the socialgatherings we look forward to. This is a time for us to focus on the things we can do (like keepingeach other safe and catching up on all those books we said we'd read and movies we said we'dwatch) and not on what we can't do. You have all risen to the occasion beautifully.

I also want to thank many of you who have reached out to offer kind words of praise andencouragement to me and the BOD during this challenging time.

Please remember, that this is not forever, and as soon as the "all clear" is given by our national, state and local leaders, I look forward to celebrating with each and every oneof you. Until then, you have my word that I will remain transparent and willcontinue to share information with you as soon as I receive it.

Jayson and I believe that if we have to be restricted, there is no place else onearth that we would rather be and I hope you feel the same.

Be safe and Be Well,

Karyn McMullen, President, LCCI

“And the weaver said, Speak to us of Clothes. And he answered:

Your clothes conceal much of your beauty, yet they hide not the unbeautiful. And though you seek in garments

the freedom of privacy you may find in them a harness and a chain.

Would that you could meet the sun and the wind with more of your skin and less of your raiment, For the breath

of life is in the sunlight and the hand of life is in the wind.

Some of you say, ‘It is the north wind who has woven the clothes we wear.’ And I say, Ay, it was the

north wind, But shame was his loom, and the softening of the

sinews was his thread. And when his work was done he laughed

in the forest. Forget not that modesty is for a shield against the

eye of the unclean.

And when the unclean shall be no more, what were

modesty but a fetter and a fouling of the mind? And forget not

that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long

to play with your hair.”

– (Kalil Gibran, The Prophet pg 35-36)
